The young pup is doing well and continues to receive care in our hospital. While she still requires frequent medical attention, we are optimistic and expect her to make a full recovery.

Local authorities are fully engaged and are handling the investigation. Unfortunately, we are unable to share any additional details at this time.

Thank you for the outpouring of concern, support, and kindness shown to this sweet girl. We will continue to provide updates as we are able.

We are aware of the concerns and interest surrounding a puppy currently receiving treatment at our hospital. Rest assured, the puppy is currently safe and receiving ongoing medical care

At this time, our focus is providing the medical care and support the puppy needs. We understand that many people are concerned about its welfare and ultimate disposition, and we appreciate the compassion being shown by our community.

As this situation may involve matters outside of our authority, we are working with the appropriate law enforcement agencies and will follow their guidance regarding any next steps. The puppy will remain under our care while those agencies review the situation.

Because this is an active case, we are unable to discuss specific details, ownership information, or potential outcomes. We ask for your patience and understanding as the proper process takes place.

Thank you to everyone who has expressed concern for this puppy and for allowing our team to focus on providing the care it needs.

Some dogs tolerate cold better than we do, but the temperatures forecasted for the coming days will be extreme — even for pets that normally love winter weather. Please limit outdoor exposure, provide dry, insulated shelter and bedding, and check food and water often to prevent freezing. Stay warm and keep those paws safe! 🐾💙

To better serve you , Gulf Coast Veterinary ER will be closed from 7:00 am until noon this Wednesday, December 20th, to accommodate the installation of numerous network upgrades. During the upgrades our phone lines will remain operational – 228-392-7474. Feel free to call for an update if you have an animal staying with us. Additionally, staff will be onsite if you need to pick up an animal that spent the night with us.
