Meet Rusty – A Loyal, Intelligent Borderdoodle Looking for His Perfect Home 🐾

⚠️ REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION:
• Large breed experience required
• Vet references required
• Rusty cannot be placed with a first-time dog owner

Rusty is an almost 5-year-old Border Collie/Poodle mix (Borderdoodle) born June 4, 2021. This tall, long-legged, handsome boy has a stunning gray and white coat and weighs approximately 50–55 lbs.

Rusty is incredibly intelligent, deeply loving, and extremely people-oriented. He forms strong bonds with his family and thrives when he is included in everyday life. He is not a dog who does well being left alone for long hours and would be happiest in a home where someone is around most of the time.

✨ Personality & Temperament:
• Extremely smart and highly trainable
• Calm and well-mannered inside the home
• Barks appropriately to alert to strangers or unusual activity
• Gentle, patient, and wonderful with children
• Friendly with familiar people and dogs
• Loves affection, snuggles, and staying close to his humans

🏡 Household Manners:
• Fully house trained with no indoor accidents
• Raised completely as an indoor companion dog
• Respectful and well-behaved in the home

🌿 Lifestyle & Special Needs:
• Loves outdoor play and spending time with children
• Should not be kenneled or left outside for extended periods
• Needs daily companionship, interaction, and mental stimulation
• Has storm anxiety and does best with comfort and reassurance during bad weather
• Also experiences some separation anxiety and would thrive in a home where his owner is home often or can include him in daily routines

• Up to date on vaccinations

• Hypoallergenic-style coat with low shedding and a soft, human-hair texture

Meet Shane Shane 🐾

Yes, his name is Shane Shane… because one Shane simply wasn’t enough to contain this level of personality.

This 8 lb, 5-year-old heartthrob is basically a professional lap warmer with a minor in “being adorable at all times.” He’s already neutered (a gentleman, obviously) and has started heartworm treatment, so he’s looking for a local situation where he can keep his medical glow-up going at Lakeview Animal Hospital.

✨ Shane Shane’s “I’m basically perfect” résumé:
• Certified Stage 5 Clinger — if you sit down, congratulations, you now have a Shane
• Crate trained (but would prefer your lap, your bed, your soul…)
• Car rides? Yes. Shotgun? Also yes.
• Eager to please — like, suspiciously eager
• Good with dogs, kids, and probably your nosy neighbor too
• Leash trained and ready to strut like he pays bills
• Playful… but only after adequate cuddle breaks

⚠️ A few fine-print details:
• Heartworm positive — currently working on that, like a responsible adult
• Flight risk — this man thinks he’s faster than he is, so secure yard + good grip required

Shane Shane is fully vetted through Tired Dog Rescue and is now accepting applications for his forever human (or humans… he’s flexible as long as there are laps).

He’s the perfect combo of clingy + chaotic good — whether you’re binge-watching TV or just trying to go to the bathroom alone (lol, not anymore), he’s your guy.
