Lucy Lou, formally Dutchess, living her Best life. This is why we do what we do. These precious animals don’t deserve living a stray life. Dutchess was rescued from a huge TNR job at a trailer park this summer. She was given to us by someone because she kept having kittens around the trailer park. She was 1 of 5 being trapped and fixed I brought her to my house along with the others on Friday to get fixed and recovered. She was the only friendly one. I knew she was special and decided we would take her into the rescue and find her a home. Sunday when we released the TNR cats we were told Dutchess had babies in someone’s trailer. 6 babies, sick and infested with fleas, I was horrified and sickened not only with how sick the babies were but they’ve been without their mama for 3 days !!!!! Instantly rescued them and reunited them with mama after we triaged them all. Mama Dutchess was an amazing mother and I got to care for and help raise all her babies. They all got wonderful homes. (The Aristocats litter)
I was worried about Dutchess. Not many people adopt adults. We have MANY that have been at the adoption center for years waiting for their furever home. But I was DETERMINED to find this mama an amazing home. She deserved it!
I watched her, an underweight flea infested cat that no one cared about, go through a spay shortly after having babies ( she was so undernourished she didn’t have a lot of milk), being without her babies and then being reunited and watching them be so sick and the entire bunch become healthy adoptable pets.
Dutchess got that amazing home and here she is being so spoiled and loved on. She’s the queen of the house. I get pictures all the time of her and I love it. As her foster mama, it’s so heartwarming to see her so loved.

We would love for everyone who has adopted from us to post a picture of “our furbabies”. We love seeing them all grown up. As I mentioned, it’s so heartwarming to us foster moms seeing our little babies all grown up. Post their original name if you can 🐾❣️🐾

You've heard of Lap Cats, right? Well Big Top is a Shoulder Cat.

Big Top is an all black little guy with a HUGE sense of adventure. He got his name from his BIG personality! The more you try to ignore him, the higher he will climb... all the way up to the TOP of your head!

Big Top thinks he is running the show. We don't have the heart to tell him that he is not in charge, so we just let him do his thing & enjoy the entertainment. He had a wonderful time at our yoga session in the Fall - he was glad so many participants let him climb all over them!

If you are looking for an energetic, slightly naughty friend who will keep you laughing, Big Top is the guy for you.

Big Top has been tested, is up-to-date on shots, dewormed, flea-treated, & neutered. Apply here to adopt Big Top: http://www.grovecityareapetrescue.com/adoption-application.html

Say hello to adorable Dublin!

Dublin is a sweet little who is almost all black - except for a little white flare on his chest. He loves being petted and snuggling. He's perfectly lovable and playful. Dublin likes being where the action is and he gets along well with other kitties. If fact he’d love a kitty friend as he has been raised with another foster kitty, Shawna.

Dublin has been tested, is up-to-date on shots, dewormed, flea-treated, & neutered. Apply here to adopt Dublin: http://www.grovecityareapetrescue.com/adoption-application.html

🎄✨ Season’s Greetings, Everyone! ✨🎄

It’s that wonderful time of year again — our Annual Christmas Kitty Stocking Drive is back! This is our second year hosting it, and we’re so excited to continue this tradition for many years to come.

Last year, our incredible community came together and made Christmas truly special for our rescue kitties. Every stocking was filled, every gift was opened with joy, and our volunteers were surrounded by happy paws and happy hearts. 💕🐾

This year, we’re hoping to create that same magic once again. Below is our Amazon Wish List, and if you’re able, we’d be so grateful for any contribution to help fill a stocking or place a gift beneath the tree for our kitties.

📦 Amazon Wish List:

Meet Shannon & Molly — the Irish Twins With Hearts of Gold

Shannon and Molly are part of the adorable “Irish Litter,” and like true twins, they’re two peas in a pod. These girls are as friendly as they come—super social, incredibly affectionate, and absolutely thrilled to be around people. If you sit down, expect them to show up instantly… and if you get up, expect them to follow. They’re little shadows with big purrs.

Shannon is the bold greeter, always the first to trot over with bright eyes and a curious chirp. Molly is right behind her, soft and sweet, ready to nuzzle into your hands for attention. Together, they create the perfect balance: playful, loving, and endlessly charming.

They adore cuddles, seek out human affection, and think lap time is the best time. Whether they’re tumbling around together or curling up for a nap, these sisters bring joy, warmth, and nonstop sweetness into every room.
Spayed, tested negative for felv/fiv, utd on vaccines, rabies, dewormed and flea treated.

Did somebody say, "biscuits??"

This is Joanne & she is very special. She was rescued from a hoarding situation over a year ago & was at our adoption center until a volunteer pulled her to a foster home this March. Her foster parents quickly realize just how unique she is.

We're not quite sure of Joanne's age, but the vet says she's a "mature cat." We assumed that was going to mean she'd be loafing around the house, but we were wrong! Joanne is very affectionate, playful, & entertaining! She is often found dragging around one of her (many) biscuit mats, napping on a lap, or playing with the foster kittens.

Joanne has been to a handful of events like Coffee with Cats & Kitty Yoga. She is very outgoing & often a crowd favorite, so we can't believe no one has asked about adopting her yet.

Joanne does have a couple of conditions adopters need to be aware of:

1) She is FIV positive, but since she won't be mating or fighting with other cats, it's highly unlikely she would infect additional cats in the household. FIV+ cats can live regular, full lives but adopters should keep this diagnosis in mind because it can sometimes complicate other illnesses. Just make sure she gets a yearly check-up & get her to a vet if she comes down with any other ailments to ensure her FIV+ status doesn't become a problem.

2) Her kidneys are not 100% functional. She went back to the vet when she first came into foster care, & it was determined she should be on a prescription diet for kidney health. No other treatments are needed at this time & she has been stable since the Spring.

Joanne is truly one-of-a-kind. If you don't apply to adopt her, you are really missing out on an frisky, delightful gal who will keep you chuckling - take a look at her photos as evidence of her BIG personality!

Joanne has been tested (FIV+), is up-to-date on shots, dewormed, flea-treated, & spayed. Apply here to adopt Joanne: http://www.grovecityareapetrescue.com/adoption-application.html

The kitties just wanted to thank everyone who has helped them over the past year - we have wonderful volunteers who clean our adoption center daily, foster kitties in their homes, help transport to vet visits, etc. We've also had lots of wonderful people who have shared our posts, donated funds, baked treats for our vendor tables, & help make our kitties feel special & loved.
A special thanks to K-9 Confections, LLC for providing the cats at our adoption center some turkey to celebrate Thanksgiving while they are waiting to find their Forever Homes!
