Grove City Area Pet Rescue is a 501C3 organization that helps local animals find forever homes.

We are a 501C3 organization that tries to help as many local homeless pets find forever homes and decrease the area's overpopulation of dogs and cats through spaying and neutering. All of the dogs and cats are examined by a vet, spayed or neutered and current with vaccinations before they are placed. Adult dogs are tested for heartworms and cats/kittens are tested for FIV/FeLV. Pocahontas, Mulan & Jasmine are the most gorgeous, loving and playful kittens you will ever meet. They purr as soon as they see you, compete for your attention and love to give nose kisses. If I didn’t already have enough pets. I would keep them myself ( but hubby says no more 😩.)

A certain peace in the before and after… ❤️

This is foster kitty Cheeseball 🧀 . He was trapped last January, and I was honestly afraid of him at first. I thought he was feral. But he was too sick, and it was too cold to return him after neutering to the outdoors where he’d been trapped. So, as it turned out, we were stuck with each other!

After eyelid surgery, antibiotics, steroids, and laser treatments, (thanks to GCAPR and its generous contributors) this once-frightening and frightened kitty has become the happiest camper, fast asleep on my hip as I type. ❤️

Sometimes, the ones we think we’re rescuing end up bringing a little peace and healing into our own lives, too.

This is Andrea Marino, Melinda's best friend. And no, she can't see ghosts.

Andrea is a long-haired, white girl who is around 18 weeks old. She has a littermate (Delia) who looks just like her! Andrea & Delia have the most peculiar tufts of fur behind their ears. It was hard to get a good photo of the curious little tufts. You'll just have to schedule an adoption visit to see them in-person!

Andrea loves to climb on your shoulders & flop down in your lap. If you're not afraid of being covered in long, white hair, apply to adopt Andrea!

This is Melinda Gordon. And yes, she can see ghosts.

Melinda is around 18 weeks old & is just as happy in your lap as she is swatting at toys around the foster room. She & her littermates are all very friendly & ready for adoption!

💕📚 MEET THE BOOKEND SISTERS! 📚💕

Sometimes, two kitten sisters are so much alike in their looks, yet so different in their personalities, that you just have to give them a special name. Meet Mercer and Clarke, our beautiful Bookend Sisters! ❤️

These two gorgeous approximately 4 month old girls have matching good looks, with lovely medium-long coats, striking tabby markings, fluffy tails, and snowy white chests and paws. Mercer wears a beautiful blend of black and gray while Clarke’s coat is a stunning brown and black. Like a pair of beautiful bookends, they belong together! 🐾

But look a little closer, and you’ll discover that these sisters each have a personality all their own.

🤎 MERCER is our happy, friendly girl who loves pets, snuggles. . She’s the kind of kitty who makes loving her easy!

🩶 CLARKE is a little more complicated. She’s still figuring out this whole business of trusting people. Sometimes she’s agreeable to affection, and other times she’s quite determined to have her personal space respected! She’s a bit of a scaredy-cat, and her social skills are still a work in progress.

But here’s the beautiful thing about Clarke: when Mercer is around, Clarke comes alive! ❤️ Her sister gives her confidence and comfort in a way that people are still working to earn.

And that’s why we’d love to see these two kittens find a home together. Mercer can keep sharing her loving, outgoing nature, while Clarke can continue to grow in confidence with her sister by her side. With patience, understanding, and a little time, who knows how much more of Clarke’s personality will blossom?

There’s another fun fact about these girls! They’re the daughters of Nanook, the big, beautiful white gentle giant of a kitty we recently introduced you to—and who has since been adopted! 🥰 These girls are already gorgeous, and they may have inherited Dad’s potential for growing into some seriously impressive felines!

Both girls have been spayed, vaccinated, and tested.

A loving home that sees not just two beautiful cats, but two sisters who have something special in each other. A home that will appreciate Mercer’s affectionate nature, give Clarke the time and space she needs to feel safe, and let both girls flourish at their own pace.

A Difficult Update on Peaches, the elderly cat rescued at Lake Latonka on Sunday

Unfortunately, we have some heartbreaking news to share about Peaches.

Since her rescue, it has become apparent that Peach is extremely ill. Her bloodwork from yesterday revealed significant anemia, severely elevated globulins, low albumin, and other abnormalities suggesting a serious underlying disease process. FIP and cancer are among the possibilities, although we do not have a definitive diagnosis.

At 13+ years old, Peach has likely been struggling with this illness for some time. After considering her condition and quality of life, our vet believes the kindest and most compassionate decision may be to let her go peacefully rather than put her through additional suffering.

This is never an easy decision, especially when so many people have followed her story, cared about her, and hoped for a different outcome.

We wish we could have given Peach more time, but sometimes rescue means recognizing when the greatest gift we can give is a peaceful goodbye.

Thank you to everyone who cared about Peaches and hoped for her recovery. Please know that she mattered, she was seen, and she was not forgotten. ❤️

This special girl is Charlie & she is ready for a home!

As you can see from the videos, Charlie has a bit of a bounce to her step. That is because she has a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia. Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) is a neurological condition where the part of the brain that controls balance, coordination, & fine motor skills is smaller or under developed. This condition is not painful & it is not progressive - Charlie will always be a wobbly little gal & she’s adjusted quite well to her abilities.

Charlie is almost 5 months old & is very spunky. She enjoys playing & chasing feet so if you apply to adopt her be ready for an active kitty! Even though Charlie’s condition may keep her from being able to jump onto high surfaces, she does know how to climb using her front legs so nothing is totally off limits to her!

Jasmine is so hard to get pictures of because she is always so close to you wanting love. She is the sweetest most loving girl. She has a very special place in my heart forever. Is there a place in your heart for Jasmine?
