As the barn manager at Storm Harbor Equestrian Center Slippery Rock University, a Premier Accredited Center with PATH International, I have dedicated my life to horse care. I work with a team that serves children and adults with disabilities through Equine Assisted Activities. Before coming to Storm Harbor, I spent 25 years as the Equestrian Director for a residential treatment center, in addition to owning, training and showing Quarter Horses. Over the past 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for numerous senior equines who have supported therapeutic riders.
Horses in therapeutic programs can experience soreness just from their everyday activities. Since introducing Summit, I’ve seen almost immediate improvement in horses that were showing discomfort. It’s rewarding to watch my non-horsey staff and volunteers notice the difference in the horses, too!
Max, our arthritic Haflinger who carries riders needing extra assistance, is a great example. Before Summit, Max would only trot a couple of steps during lessons. The C4S helped me tremendously in my workout recovery phases. I take intense Krav Maga and kickboxing/High intensity training classes 4 days a week. I love when I get these messages! Thank you Shayna and Luke! Shayna originally bought Summit for arthritis after an injury that resulted in an infected joint. She told me about Honey and I said give her a shot of Summit for the information! Her is her results! Always check with your vet when your horse has an eye issue! Summit will help inflammation!

Our horse Honey has struggled with uveitis flares ups. (Appys 🙄- am I right.. 😅) she had a flare up after losing her fly mask in the pasture on the first full sun day of the year. I gave her a shot of Summit that evening and the next day I was very impressed with how quickly I saw the inflammation go down! I gave her a second shot and after another full sun day was nervous to take her fly mask off.. but to my relief her eye looked absolutely beautiful!! Thank you Deb and Summit!!
