At Girls 4 we are going to change direction. At my age raising cows has gotten to be more than I can do so our direction is going to be woodworking. I'll post some pictures of projects I have completed.

I have a steer ready to go to the butcher in the next month. If anyone is interested in part of a cow now is the time to contact us. All our beef is 100% grass fed with no hormones or antibiotics. We dry age for 30 days before butchering. The price is approximately $7.00lb. after dry aging and that includes the butchers fee. You will not find a leaner beef without calling it a white tail. Alana finally had her calf. A bull. She had problems with the birth and I had to call in the experts. John and Judy, you are the best! Learned a lot on this experience. Like how to reach inside and straighten a front leg that was folded over and was preventing the birth and how to use chains to pull the calf out. Now I didn't do this myself but watched John so now I'm suppose to know what to do next time this happens. Happened about 8:30 last night and by 6:00 am the little bastard was out of the pasture and hung up in a brush pile.

Scottish Highlander Beef

At Girls 4 we raise 100% grass fed Scottish Highlander beef. Highlander beef is noted for being the leanest beef available and it has a very good flavor. We never grain feed or grain finish our cows. Our cows fatten on a mixture of rye grasses and clovers and we don’t use any hormones to enhance their growth. We use no chemicals in our fields other than lime and fertilizer. We eat what we sell and we raise a product that is as far away from main stream production methods as we can get. It takes us 2 1/2 years to produce a marketable animal as compared to 15 to 18 months for an Angus or Hereford but we think the wait is worth it. If you are interested then you need to get on our list. When we have an animal ready for butcher we contact you a month in advance. If you’re not ready it’s not a problem we just contact the next person on our list. Our problem is not customers but having enough cows to butcher:)
