All our dogs are housed in experienced foster homes where they receive love and care until they find a special home of their own. Midwest Small Breed Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 volunteer-based rescue for small breed and mixed dogs. All of our dogs are housed in experienced foster homes where they receive love and care until they find that special home to call their own. Prior to adoption, all

dogs receive necessary medical treatment and vaccines. All dogs will be spayed/neutered before adoption except for puppies who will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract. Most of our rescued dogs come from local Humane Societies and shelters in the Metro-Detroit area. We also receive dogs from shelters and puppymills in Ohio, Indiana and Missouri. Some dogs come to us with medical problems such as broken bones, severe eye injuries, etc. These dog receive the medical care they need and then we nurture them back to health. Many of the dogs we rescue were minutes away from euthanasia.

Meet Flopsy — a tiny 2½-pound Chihuahua mix with a big personality. She’s playful, curious, and always on the go. She is about 10 weeks old.

Flopsy is p*e pad trained, sleeps well in her crate, and is vaccinated and microchipped. She loves toys, sticks, digging, and playing with friendly dogs.

She needs a safe home without small children and would do best with a small dog. She’s delicate and unsure around cats.

Looking for a forever family to keep her safe and loved. Adoption $450 with a refundable $50 sterilization deposit.

Meet Peep — a 4-pound 10 week old Chihuahua mix with a big personality and love for adventure. At two months old, she’s curious, playful, and always exploring.

Peep is p*e pad trained, sleeps well in her crate, and loves squeaky toys, tug-of-war, backyard time, and other dogs.

Meet Pollen 🖤🌼

Pollen is an adorable black (with faint tabby stripes!) domestic shorthair kitten with a sweet, gentle soul. While he can be a little shy at first, once he feels safe his playful and curious personality really starts to bloom. He would thrive in a home with another friendly, playful cat or kitten to help continue building his confidence.

Pollen has been raised in a foster home with cats and dogs and he also spends lots of time at his foster mom’s job at a veterinary clinic where he’s exposed to all kinds of people (including children), noises, and daily activity to help him become a well-socialized, confident kitten.

He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, dewormed, and ready to find a forever home of his own!
