This week, we want to shine a light on two incredible rescue partners who showed up when it mattered most.✨

First, a huge thank you to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue for stepping up for sweet Cass. At just 2 months old, Cass came in with a fractured leg and needed out *urgently*. We sent a last-resort email, and within 5 minutes, Brother Wolf responded with a resounding “yes”. Their team didn’t hesitate to pick her up and ensure she’d get the care she needed. We are so grateful for your compassion and quick action!

Next, our deepest thanks to Pets with Disabilities for answering a truly big ask—Sakura. Hit by a car and barely clinging to life, Sakura had fractured ribs and lung bruising. Her canine companion didn’t make it. Despite the heartbreak, Pets with Disabilities didn’t hesitate. They immediately coordinated a swift transfer to the ER, giving Sakura a fighting chance.

THANK YOU for being the kind of partners every shelter dreams of. 💛

🌟Starting the Week with Immense Gratitude for Our Rescue Partners! 🌟
We want to take a moment to celebrate some of the amazing rescues who stepped up in a big way to help animals from our urgent collages—your support means everything! 💛

🐱 Shining Star Sanctuary — You are always there when we need you most. No hesitation, no questions—just action. This week, you pulled:
TT – in our care for 33 days
Oconee – 47 days
Amelia – 36 days
Calypso – 36 days
Not only were their stays long, but each of these sweet cats has medical needs. You’re giving them the second chance they deserve, and we are so thankful. Please consider supporting Shining Star as they care for these deserving kitties!

🐾 The Village Mews, thank you for pulling Stretch, who had been with us for 40 days and also came with medical issues. We’re so grateful for your help with our urgent cat list!

🐶 To our dog rescue heroes:
Chow Charmer, thank you for pulling Loyalty (26 days) and Paddie (24 days)—both urgent pups now safe and on their way to brighter days.

Passion 4 Paws, thank you for taking in Primo, who had been with us for 45 days and had seen the shelter before. Now, he finally gets the fresh start he deserves.

We’re so appreciative of every single one of you. It takes a village, and we're lucky to have such compassionate, responsive partners in rescue. 🐾❤️

🌟 Saturday Appreciation Post: Huge Thanks to Gracie Acres & Jasper’s Legacy! 🌟

This week, we also want to take a moment to send a **huge thank you** to two incredible rescue partners who stepped up for some very special dogs. Your kindness and dedication truly change lives!

🐕 Gracie Acres, we can’t thank you enough for coming to the rescue of two big shepherds in need:
- Freedom – After 25 days in our care, she returned from foster with some behavior concerns. The shelter environment wasn’t the right place for her to work through them, but you didn’t hesitate to step in and give her a fresh start where she can truly thrive.
- Saul – This handsome boy was originally adopted but came back to us because he struggled to mesh with pets and children in his new home. While it didn’t work out there, we’ve heard he may be moving on up in the world—potentially working with the police! 🚓🐕 From shelter dog to service—what an incredible journey ahead!

🐶 Jasper’s Legacy, you have been an absolute force in helping us save dogs, and we are so grateful!
- Little Foot – This little troublemaker was caught in the act—teaming up with his friends to chase and kill chickens. With his mischievous spirit and his uniquely malformed paw (which looks like he has *two little feet*—hence the name), he needed the right place to land. You stepped in and gave him that chance!
- Rucker – This sweet boy has been through *so much*. He had been in our care before, but this time, he came back with a heartbreaking injury—he had been shot and needed an amputation. Despite everything, Rucker remains one of the happiest, sweetest pups ever. Not only did you pull him, but you also stepped up to take on his medical needs while he heals. That kind of commitment means the world to us—and to him!

To Gracie Acres and Jasper’s Legacy—thank you for making this process smooth, for giving these dogs hope, and for always being willing to step up when they need you most. **You are true lifesavers, and we appreciate you more than words can say!** 💛🐾

🌟 Rescue Shoutout of the Week! 🌟
We’re feeling extra thankful this week and want to give a huge shoutout to two amazing rescue partners who helped some incredible pups find their next chapter! 💛
🙏 Thank you, Lighthouse Animal Shelter for pulling Peony, Lilypad, and Cardinal!
Lilypad was with us for 36 days and became a favorite with her boarder!
Cardinal stayed 34 days and patiently waited for his turn.
Peony hasn't been here for too long, but her nervous nature made the shelter tough—your help made a big difference for her! (she was unable to leave today due to some medical but she will be leaving Monday!)
🐾 And a big thank you to Carolina Boxer Rescue for welcoming Roxy!
She was with us for 36 days and was one of our absolute favorites. With her sass, energy, and big heart, she was so ready to go—and couldn’t have been happier on her way out! Working with your team was seamless from start to transport. 💕
Thank you both for being part of these pups' journeys. We appreciate you! 🐶❤️

Meet Cash! 🐶💙 - male, 6m/42lbs, HW negative

Cash is a laid-back, affectionate pup looking for his forever home! He seems to be housetrained and loves toys, belly rubs, and snuggling with his favorite humans. While he’s curious, he can be a little wary of new things at first, but with patience, he warms up quickly.
Cash enjoys short outdoor breaks but is more of an indoor snuggler—once he’s done with his business, he’s ready to relax. He has a mild temperament and has been around goats and small children, making him a great fit for a variety of homes.

🐾 A Huge Thank You to Jasper’s Legacy! 🐾
We are beyond grateful for Jasper’s Legacy and the incredible work they’ve done this week! This amazing new rescue stepped up in a big way, saving five precious pups who desperately needed a second chance.
✨ Gimli – After 26 days in the shelter and struggling to show his true personality, he was becoming urgent. Now, he has the fresh start he needed!
✨ Irish Daisy – A sweet girl who spent 14 days waiting for her hero—Jasper’s Legacy made sure she found safety and love.
✨ Turkey – A super adorable pup who just needed an understanding home due to food issues in the kennel. Now, he’s in the right hands!
✨ YooHoo – This little one was urgently needing out due to ringworm, and Jasper’s Legacy didn’t hesitate to help!

Jasper’s Legacy has shown just how truly amazing they are. Their dedication and compassion made all the difference for these dogs, and we simply couldn’t have done it without them! 🐶💙

We are beyond grateful for the incredible rescues that stepped up for our animals this past week!

🐾 **Passion 4 Paws** – You guys truly worked some magic, pulling **six large dogs** who desperately needed out! These weren’t just any dogs—they were some of our longest-stay pups, and you **saved their lives**!
✨ **Aztech** – Here for **20 days**, he needed a leg amputation due to an old wound but never lost his spirit.
✨ **Freddie** – A big sweetheart who waited **54 days** for his chance.
✨ **Rose** – In custody for a heartbreaking **58 days**.
✨ **Firefly** – A gentle girl who came in with a deep puncture wound and needed a calm place to heal.
✨ **Oliver (fka Steak)** – Spent **53 days** waiting for a home.
✨ **Orwell** – Our longest wait at **60 days** in custody!

It is **absolutely incredible** how many long-stay, large dogs you pulled, and we can’t thank you enough for giving them this second chance! 💙🐶

🐾 **Shining Star Sanctuary** – Our go-to cat rescue, and let us tell you—we **LOVE** that you help us! We just wish there were more rescues like you to share the load. This week, you truly came to our rescue during shelter renovations, pulling multiple cats who needed urgent placement.
✨ **Eli** – A not-so-nice owner surrender (we get it, Eli, life is tough).
✨ **Hollywood** – A medical case with a **47-day stay**!
✨ **Timmy** – Another medical case and a bit of a grump, but he’s in the best hands now.

Taking on medical **and** behavioral cases isn’t easy, but you **never** shy away from the tough ones. **Shining Star Sanctuary, you are incredible, and we are so grateful for you!**

💙 Appreciation Post! 💙
We’re kicking off this week with a HUGE thank you to some incredible rescue partners who stepped up for our pups when they needed it most!
🐾 Greenville Humane Society – You guys are amazing! Even after dealing with your own space crisis earlier this week, you still came to our rescue and took in seven of our dogs. That includes Dorito, a familiar face who was originally pulled by another wonderful rescue but unfortunately got sick before his transport and couldn't make the trip. No ill feelings at all toward his original rescue—this was completely out of their hands! We just needed to find quick placement for him, and thankfully, GHS stepped up and took him in! You also took in Beryllium, a pup battling parvo, and two other medical puppies. On top of that, you made space for Athena, a sweet girl with a tough past, as well as BamBam and Waldo, two big dogs in need of a break. We can’t thank you enough for all you do!
🐾 Gracie Acres – A huge shoutout to you for pulling Maroon and her three puppies, Copper, Violet, and Fuchsia! Getting moms and their babies out of the shelter can be a challenge, but you stepped up in a big way. Thank you for giving this little family a safe place to land!
🐾Special mention - Dede’s Angels – We are beyond grateful to you for taking in Bella, an owner surrender who was really struggling in the shelter environment. With her stress levels high, she wasn’t allowing staff to handle her without snapping. You saw the potential in her and gave her a second chance—we know she’s in the best hands!
To all of you, THANK YOU for your kindness, dedication, and willingness to step up when our pups needed it most. We are endlessly grateful for the work you do! 🐶💙

Today, we want to send out a huge THANK YOU to some incredible rescues that stepped up in big ways for our animals in need!
First, Heartwarming Hounds Dog Rescue—you were truly Faith’s saving grace! 🐶💖
Sweet Faith desperately needed out within 24 hours due to a possible ringworm diagnosis, which we are unable to house. With no one else stepping up, Heartwarming Hounds jumped into action to take her in! But Faith’s story doesn’t stop there—this resilient pup was actually part of a litter that had been thrown over our fence in a taped-up box and left abandoned overnight. 💔 Thanks to Heartwarming Hounds, Faith is now getting the second chance she deserves! (Also, a special shoutout to **Sick as a Dog** for housing Faith while she waits for transport—you guys rock! 🙌)
Next, a massive thank you to Mountain Pet Rescue for stepping up in not one, but TWO big ways—taking in a large dog and a pup with an upper respiratory infection! We were overflowing in our sick-hold kennels, and they graciously welcomed Audie into their care. Your willingness to save our large dogs makes such a difference! 🐕💙
Lastly, a quick shoutout, we have to give love to our amazing cat rescue partners—Shining Star Sanctuary! 😻✨ They took in Morgan and Suzanna, two feisty girl cats with *girl cat behaviors*. Our behavior kennels for cats were packed, and Shining Star stepped up once again to give them the space and care they needed. We are beyond grateful for your ongoing support!
To all of these rescues—thank you for being the lifeline these animals need. Your kindness, dedication, and willingness to help never go unnoticed. We couldn’t do this without you! 💕🐾

Rescue Appreciation Post ❤️🐾

This week, we want to send our deepest gratitude to two incredible rescues: Living Hope Canine Rescue and Dog Squad!
First, Living Hope Canine Rescue, who truly saved the day by taking in Akela and Garnet—two pups who were struggling in the shelter environment.
🐶 Akela was a personal favorite of mine and spent 38 days with us. While she was incredibly dog-social and loved those she trusted, she struggled with behaviors like barking, lunging, and growling at strangers and staff. She was declining and desperately needed out.
🐶 Garnet, our adorable shepherd mix with the biggest ears, was with us for 25 days. Unfortunately, we noticed increasing reactivity towards dogs and new people, and despite passing her dog test, she needed immediate placement.
Living Hope Canine Rescue stepped up in a huge way, welcoming these quirky, lovable girls into their care. We are forever grateful for their willingness to give them the fresh start they deserve!
Next, a huge thank you to Dog Squad for their incredible work with Jada.
🐶 Jada arrived in heartbreaking condition—severely emaciated, dehydrated, and found on a short tether. When we reached out privately, Dog Squad immediately jumped into action to help. Before she left, we dog-tested her (which she passed!) and showered her with love. Her affectionate and laid-back personality made her a staff favorite in no time!
We are beyond grateful for the lifesaving work that Living Hope Rescue and Dog Squad do. Because of them, these three deserving pups have a second chance at happiness.

🐾 Mountain Pet Rescue – We are beyond grateful for your kindness and quick action in welcoming Fancy after an incredible 66 days in our custody! And another big thank you for taking Rock, who spent 36 days with us. Your willingness to step up without hesitation is truly inspiring!
To all of you, thank you for your compassion, commitment, and lifesaving work. These dogs now have the opportunity for brighter futures because of you! 💙🐶

First and foremost, a HUGE thank you to Elk County—we are so, so grateful for you! 🙌 They stepped up in a big way and pulled six of our dogs, giving them the second chance they so deserve.
🐾 Elsie – A sweet girl who was in foster care.
🐾 Dorito – A puppy who waited 16 days with no interest.
🐾 Sugar – Another puppy who waited 16 days for a home.
🐾 Maggie – Who spent 25 days here.
🐾 Sphynx – Originally adopted from us, but when reaching out to his owners, no one wanted him back. 💔
🐾 Tookie – Also previously adopted, but this time spent 19 days waiting.
Elk County quickly checked our Notions page and, with no hesitation, chose six dogs to take into their rescue. Your kindness and commitment to these pups do not go unnoticed—thank you!
Secondly, a huge shoutout to Heartwarming Hounds for pulling Jim Carrey, a sweet soul who was here 40 days too long, along with three puppies who, surprisingly, weren’t getting adopted. 🐶💖
We are beyond grateful for these incredible rescues and the lifesaving work they do. Because of you, these pups now have a brighter future ahead. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! 💕🐾
