Carmela got to take an extra special trip over to PKL Park this afternoon to remind you that today is the LAST DAY to register for the Kanga Coolers X PKL Park pickleball tournament on Sept. 19!!

Proceeds from this tournament will go directly to support Animal Care, AND they're also collecting donations, in addition to our team being there for a fun off-site adoptions event! 🐶

Happy ! This week's foster feature is Portobello!

Meet Portobello, the lovable 7-year-old feline king 👑🐈. Despite a rough past, this sweet boy's spirit remains unbroken 💪. He's missing a toe, but his zest for life is still purr-fectly intact 👣💕. Portobello's a foodie at heart and loves nothing more than chomping on his favorite treats 🍽️. Living with FIV hasn't slowed him down; he's still got a playful spark in his eye 🔥. What Portobello really needs now is a forever family to give him a comfortable, loving home for the rest of his life 🏠❤️. The good news? He's already litter box trained 🚽, so all he needs is love, care, and plenty of snacks 🐾💤. Scooter’s Coffee fueled more than caffeine this past weekend — it fueled compassion!! 🐕✨ We were blown away by their donations and the love shown to our adoptable pups. Thank you for helping us give shelter dogs the care (and second chances) they deserve. 🐾

This weekend’s event at Dapper Dog was such a success! 🐾 The staff created such a welcoming space where pups could lounge inside, hang behind the bar, or play outside in their Bark Yard all while meeting their potential forever families. 💕 important to note that with every adoption at GCAC Dapper Dog is donating a free Bark Yard membership!

We’re so grateful for their support of Greenville Animal Care. Our fosters, volunteers, adopters, everyone had a wonderful time, and sweet Ruthie even found her forever home! 🥰 Huge thanks to the staff for making this such a dog-friendly, joy-filled event.

We spend a lot of time sharing stories and updates of pets that are actively IN our shelter that need our help. BUT there is so much more to these animals' stories outside of our shelter's walls that we don't always get to share. For our shelter, it is just as important in our mission to promote the compassionate treatment of animals in our community outside of the shelter! 💙⁠

Millie Bear is a sassy, affectionate girl who loves adventure and snuggles in equal measure. 💕 She enjoys car rides, zoomies in the yard, and curling up on the couch after playtime. Millie Bear is housetrained, crate trained, and loves exploring new places and meeting new people. She’s social with other dogs, playful yet respectful, and quickly wins everyone over with her sweet, curious personality!

🏡 Best suited for: house or apartment
🧠 Training: Fully housetrained, crate trained, knows “sit”
🐱 Dog/cat interactions: Comfortable sharing space, Enjoyed playing together, Did well reading the room!

We have a few "Happy Tails" to share since this weekend's off-site adoptions events! 💙

🐾 First up: PAL was adopted by the sweetest family yesterday!!
🐾 Zion was adopted by a family that met him at the ParkHop PlayDate at Unity Park!
🐾 Chief is now living his best life in a foster home!
🐾 AND Rosie was adopted yesterday, too!

We are so excited for each of these pups, and can't thank our amazing community enough for choosing to adopt (and foster!) It makes all the difference!!
