🐾 Behind the Scenes in Animal Health 🐾

When it comes to surgical recovery, we try to give our cats options. Some patients love a recovery suit. Others prefer an inflatable collar. And then there's Spring Roll... 💅

Spring Roll arrived for her post-op fashion show and made it very clear that the inflatable collar was not her style. The recovery shirt? Also a hard pass. After a few outfit changes and plenty of opinions, she ultimately decided the classic plastic e-collar was the look she wanted to rock. 😹

Our Animal Health team works hard to make recovery as safe and comfortable as possible, and every animal has their own preferences. Sometimes finding the right fit takes a little trial and error—and a little diva energy.

Thankfully, Spring Roll is recovering well and keeping our staff entertained every step of the way. ❤️

As you can see, we are most definitely ready for our close-ups. As photogenic as we are, that's not even our best quality. You will find we are the best purr machines ever. Callista napping in her soft velvety suit, occasionally looking up at you lovingly, with those serene sea foam green eyes; or Godzilla with that divine tortoise-shell coat, playfully batting her paws around at anything in her path. Too many wonderful qualities to name here, but each sweetheart will bring so much beauty and love to their future adoptive families. Maybe that is you? You can meet Godzilla (and her siblings, Mothra and Gomora) at , while Callista rules the cat room at Why wait? Adoption equals fun with cats and kittens (maybe a bit of mayhem, too)!

🎂❤️ We celebrated Pitch's birthday, and it was one we'll never forget.

Why? Because it was his last birthday at Save-A-Pet.

Pitch is heading home to his forever family—and his best friend Cast is going with him. 🐾🐾

These two special boys have shared so much together, and now they get to start their next chapter side-by-side in a home of their own.

There may have been birthday treats, toys, and plenty of celebrating, but the greatest gift was waiting for them all along: a family who loved them exactly as they are.

Happy Birthday, Pitch. Happy Gotcha Day, Pitch & Cast. We can't wait to see all the memories you'll make together. 🏡❤️

Dusty Doug came in pretty bad shape but this is all in the past. His wonderful foster home brags about what a nice and easy-going dog he is. He is getting healthy and once cleared, will need a dental procedure (incl. a few extractions). Donations are always very much appreciated to help with vet care.

This beautiful mom-to-be that recently arrived at Save-A-Pet from our friends at Waukegan Police Animal Control and is now safe, comfortable, and enjoying foster home life while she waits for her little ones to arrive. ❤️
