Sahar and Hornet were passing through Riverside, IA. She thought it was a cute little town. They even have this statue that's handy when you need to let go of Hornet for a moment. No idea who he is tho.

they are off to Kalamazoo. this morning, at 7:00 a.m. Pacific standard, Sahar, Hornet and Nighthawk joined up with Jody and her Azawakh dogs for the long road to Kalamazoo, MI where the UKC premier will be held next week

Both of our Texan girls are integrating remarkably well into their new packs. As you can see, Suki Mai (on the green bed) and Etta (on the off-white bed) are both apply the Saluki bed ownership rule - any bed, couch or other comfortable sleeping place belongs to the Saluki and only on sufferance do other dogs (including those who had been in the household and using said beds for years) are only allowed out of the kindness of the Saluki's heart

If there is a genetic marker for a tendency to break a specific bone, apparently Phantom has it. in 2016, Phantom survived (by a miracle) getting hit by a car with remarkabley little damage. He did however, have a broken toe in his hind left foot that ended up getting amputated.

in 2026, Nighthawk, just days before going to his forever home, managed to break a toe in a household accident. Which toe? same as the one his father lost 10 years before.

Coincidence? Genetics?

Night is splinted and doing well. After consulting with an orthopedic surgeon, it sounds like the prognosis is positive although he'll be spending the next 6-8 weeks in a splint. He is in good spirits, playful and loving as always

We have our first overlapping call name and it's not one that would be easy to anticipate. The last (but not least) of the 7 puppies born on 12/17/2023 (the Kitty Hawk litter) was Suki (Sky Soaring Suki Shinden J7W Sahar Paz). She is now joined by her sister Suki Mai (and unofficially Suki 2), Electra's Suki Rose Sahar Paz) from our Lockheed litter (01/28/2026).
Even with the different age and coloration, you can kind of see the familial resemblance...

As they begin their journey with their new family, our pups frequently receive new call names. So is the case with Electra, who is now known as Suki Mai or Suki Saluki. We have chosen to embrace the change while keeping the Lockheed Electra as her spirit aircraft and so her official registration name will be Electra's Suki Roses Sahar Paz.

As you can see, she is adapting extremely well to her new home and her new mentor and guide, Juniper.

Happy to report that after a long transit, Electra has arrived at her forever home in Texas. Congrats to her and to Julia. While it is always difficult to say good to our pups, we take heart in knowing that Electra has gone to an amazing home.

Whenever you place a puppy you always want to know that they feel comfortable in their home. In the case of Sierra, we would say that this is 100% the case!
