Check out these tips to keep your pets safe and healthy during the upcoming holiday! 🇺🇸

Fireworks can be scary enough to send even the calmest pets running. 🎆🐾

July 4 is one of the busiest times of year for lost pets, so take a few minutes now to make sure your pet has the best chance of getting home safely if they slip out.

Before the fireworks start:
🐾 Check that your pet’s microchip registration is up to date
🐾 Make sure your phone number, address, and emergency contacts are current
🐾 Confirm your pet is wearing a collar with readable ID tags
🐾 Take dogs out to potty before fireworks begin
🐾 Keep pets indoors in a quiet, secure space
🐾 Use a leash for any late-night potty breaks, even in a fenced yard

☀️ As the heat index continues to rise - reminders to keep your pets healthy and happy during this heat wave
- avoid leaving your pets in a parked vehicle
- avoid walking on dark pavement and asphalt
- walk dogs early moning or late evening when temperatures are coolest
- avoid strenuous exercise outside
- provide ample shade, fresh cool water, or indoor access to your pets.

Heat exhaustion comes on quickly and heat stroke can be deadly. Prevention is key. 🔑

A quick reminder can prevent a tragedy.

Even on a mild day, the temperature inside a parked vehicle can rise dangerously fast, and cracking the windows is not enough to keep a pet safe.

Fireworks season is approaching 🎆

For many pets, loud noises aren’t just startling. They can trigger significant fear and anxiety. Noise aversion can worsen over time without support, which is why early conversations with clients matter.

Common signs may include:
🐾 Panting or pacing
🐾 Hiding or escape attempts
🐾 Vocalization
🐾 Destructive behavior
🐾 Restlessness or inability to settle

Encourage pet owners to prepare before fireworks begin by creating a safe retreat space, using calming strategies, and speaking with their veterinary team about behavioral support or medications if needed.

The earlier noise aversion is addressed, the better the outcome may be for the pet’s long-term wellbeing.
