We had to move the puppies out of the whelping box a little earlier than we normally do. 12 puppies and Luna just filled it up as they got bigger Lol.
They are all doing very good! Luna is such an excellent first time momma!
Luna has come such a long way since we bought her back. August 23rd will be a year. Ironically enough that's the date her puppies go home. 🥰 I know a lot of you have followed her story since seeing how she was when we first got her. She had been so mistreated and it definitely showed in her body language and she had no trust. Since being back here a year, she is the absolute sweetest girl. A lot of people who come here whether to pick up their new puppy or to get food, or just to stop by want to meet her and love on her. She eats it up!! Lol Luna is the epitome of that soft hearted, want to please and so forgiving. (We heard recently someone said we bred a dog named Luna who has severe fear issues) Yes, when we first got her back here she was definitely afraid (who could blame her). But since being here and getting lots of love and knowing she can make mistakes without getting into trouble she has totally become a new dog! AND get her out in the field and she is strictly business! Mike cannot wait to take her hunting this year!
We do not breed dogs just to breed dogs or to "make money" anyone who breeds knows that's not the case. If we for one minute thought that Luna wasn't breeding material we would have not bred her. We've had lots of dogs come through here that were great dogs, but had one issue or another and we just didn't want to take the chance that whatever personality trait they had we didnt like would be passed on to the puppies and then become someone else's problem when they bring their new puppy home.
Luna came from here, we bought her momma Lady (and her sister Dakota) when they were 8 weeks old. We raised and trained both girls. Lady was a Rockstar (so is Dakota) and they have some amazing puppies around the U.S.
Anyway, I am rambling lol. Just a little back story for those that care to know.

Made a little video of my older female dogs out in the airing pen after we fed. I made it for my buddy Steve Conrad so he could see his ol buddy Bailey girl. But they all needed a little lovin if she was getting some. Even ol Mary girl got a little at the end. This is Skye, Drama, Bailey, Delta, Mary, Toaster, Jude and Zara girl.

Mr Hank owned by Nicholas Misterr and Natalie. He doesn't have a ton of drive. But he's got enough. He's gonna be a dang fine hunting dog. He's been here a little over 2 Months. Super proud of his progress. He's a very smart boy. And easy to be around.

Dixie girl is a dog I didn't have the bar set real high on. She was wild and seemed not too intelligent when she first came. Now she's one of my favorite dogs in camp. She's bred to the 9s for a chocolate dog. And that is really starting to shine thru. Super proud of her performance today. She's gimme be here for another 5 weeks or so. I can't wait to see what we can get accomplished with her by then. Dixie is owned by Mr Mitch Rosser.

Roux and Magnus getting to have some puppy play time before it's a million degrees. Lol. The crazy thing is that one of them is dark chocolate. She's so dark you can hardly tell one from the bother.

Dallas is such an Incredible dog. I don't think we have ran remote thrown marks off the wingers with her. But I can't remember for sure. But we did today. We are starting to steady these young field dogs right out of force fetch. We get them back to the field after fetch. Remind them how much he they love the game. Start our pile work and casting. Then we go to steady. And she figured that right out pretty good for the first time. I'm so proud of this dog today. Takes a couple of great casts. Runs a remote thrown seasoned distance double with a cast. Super proud to say the least. Dallas has been here just over 90 days.

Remi girl owned by Mr Wade Fletcher. Remi is a Skye/Red pup. She is doing super good for such a young dog. I will have her in the store by next week more than likely. Her force fetch and hold work are going very good. She's such a sweet, smart and driven dog. But has plenty of manners. Proud of this girl

MY buddy Dallas girl off leash in the grocery store. Lots of distractions. She has to remain calm while I stop and talk. Calm around people and cats walking and bolting right next to us. Dallas did amazing. She's a humdinger in the field. But calm and collected when it's time for that also. Dallas was a Chaos breeding from our friends the Kelley's at River Ridge retrievers in Texas.

Hank man working on water skills. He's starting to get the hang of it. He's still not sure about it yet. So we will work with him nonstop til he leaves in a few weeks with water work. To build his confidence. Hank is a nice little dog. And doing good

Now we got Dixie girl. This is also her first time with water pile work. She does good. She gets a little confused at the end when the bumper gets out of sight. So instead of giving her tons of pressure to go. We stop and break it Down for her and make it clear. I end up throwing a rock for her. NO. She will not need rocks thrown going forward. But i will throw a rock to help a dog understand more clearly what I want instead of immediately going to pressure. And she succeeded. So mission accomplished. Proud of her progress. Again. It's never the dogs fault. So I don't take it out on them.
