Happy Tails: Meet Moze 💖

Moze joined his family at the beginning of this year and settled in with ease from the very start.

He quickly formed a special bond with Ollie, the family’s miniature poodle, and the two have become the best of friends and perfect walking partners. With his adorable personality and exemplary manners, Moze has truly made himself right at home.

This sweet boy is a true diamond in the rough and such a special addition to his family. 🐾

This is Myranda, GTAR President. I’m doing a little research project on the need for spay neuters in our community. Can you please drop a comment (don’t say where) of the amount you paid for your last spay/neuter and if it was dog/cat? If you are currently seeking to get an affordable spay/neuter please state “looking”. Please only comment if it’s been within 2 years. Thank you!!!

We need your help to get through the next few weeks!

Could you spare a few hours to take care of animals in need?

Ever thought about volunteering with Great Tails but weren't sure how to help? Or maybe you haven't found the right fit yet?

We're currently looking for volunteers ages 18 and older to help in a few important ways!

Dog Walkers 🐾
We're seeking individuals who can help walk dogs around lunchtime. Volunteers must be comfortable handling and walking dogs of all sizes. These walks provide valuable exercise, enrichment, and one-on-one attention for the dogs in our care.

Cleaning 🧹
We're also looking for volunteers who can assist with light cleaning around the shelter. Tasks may include mopping main hallways and common areas, light dusting as needed, cleaning windows and doors, and helping keep our shelter clean and welcoming for both animals and visitors.

Board members Myranda and Angie had a fun little morning shift with the rescue critters today. We decided to show our followers a little snip it. Remember shelters are not always bad and it is just a temporary stop to a forever home. We love our shelter pets ❤️ 🐾

Happy Tails: Meet Kiwi 🥝

Kiwi joined her family near the end of 2025 and has been winning hearts ever since.

Sweet, sassy, playful, and incredibly cuddly, she brings the perfect mix of personality and affection to her home. Whether she’s playing or snuggling up close, Kiwi makes every day a little brighter.

She truly feels like she was meant to be part of this family. 🐾💚

Ava’s foster has generously donated $100 toward her adoption fee!

We had some bloodwork done for Ava and the results did not show much of anything. Our biggest concern is her weight and some missing fur. The vet said the best thing for Ava is to lose 20+ pounds. So whoever the lucky adopter is, will have to be diligent in keeping that goal for this sweet girl. Ava’s abs need to be found! If you are possibly in your retirement years and are looking for the sweetest companion, this is your gal!
From her foster: Ava is a 7 1/2 year old terrier mix. She is spayed, all vaccines, great with other dogs, housebroken. She is so loving and affectionate- she just wants to be with her people. She loves to be outside- lets you know when she needs to go out. Loves treats but is on a weight loss diet- so treats are banana chips, sweet potato chips- healthy, low fat snacks- double yuck! She will make a wonderful companion for the right family.

Poor Fritz was sad today that he didn’t get adopted. Someone even made a donation of $150 off his adoption fee! What? We are saddened by this too, Fritz. 😿

His wonderful foster mom brought him for a pup cup to boost his spirits and it worked a little. 🩵

Would you turn Fritz’s frown upside down? He’s been through so much and deserves the best. 🙃
