Black Cat Charity Golf Charity Golf Outing The Black Cats are all about youth - this is where our group began.

During the late 1960s, a few kids wearing "black cats" as we called them (black Chuck Taylor Converse tennis shoes), grew up on the basketball courts and baseball fields of Wilcox Park, St. Thomas & the Eastown area of Grand Rapids where we began developing what would become lifelong friendships. Each year we gather in early June to celebrate the spirit of friendship and camaraderie with a golf ou

ting. This small group of friends has grown into a group of nearly 100 friends and friends of friends. In an effort to "give something back", in 1996 we began raising money for worthwhile local charities. We are excited to continue to make a difference in the community through the donations and sponsorship of local individuals and businesses, and appreciate any consideration to help us in this effort! We welcome hole sponsors ($250), Event sponsors ($1,000), donations and other gifts-in-kind for prizes and raffle. We celebrated our 41st year this past Friday, supporting our new charity partner Covenant House Michigan!!!

We raised $11,000 to assist CEO Meagan Dunn, Stacy Datena, and Tim Hudson at CHMI with providing shelter and hope for young people aged 18-24 who are experiencing homelessness or victims of trafficking in Grand Rapids and Detroit. We are so grateful to be in a position to support their mission to serve with unconditional love, absolute respect, and relentless support!

We celebrated 40 YEARS yesterday for the Black Cat!!!

Thank you all for playing, supporting and sponsoring...because of all of your generosity we were able to raise $10,000 once again for our amazing charity partner, Endless Opportunities to assist with their mission to deliver innovative mentoring experiences to the youth of Grand Rapids! It was such an honor to be presenting sponsor of the Endless Opportunities Etiquette Dinner Wednesday night at the Waddell Center in Grand Rapids. Four of us Black Cats got to sit and engage in meaningful conversation with 4 young men with bright futures. We all learned quite a bit of dinner etiquette along the way as well!
