🗓️Many dog parents call the eighth month of the year ‘Dogust’ because it’s National Dog Month and includes the Universal Birthday for Shelter Dogs on August 1st.

🐾This special day was made to honor the pups in our lives who were adopted or rescued - pictured are just a few of our volunteer’s personal shelter dogs!

🐶An adopted dog’s birthdate can be a bit murky since rescues or shelters may not know a pup’s exact backstory. Dogust was created to ensure that every dog gets a birthday, even if it’s not their real one.

🫶🏽So to celebrate DOGust, spoil your pup a little extra, hug your hound a little tighter, & play with your pooch a little more. Another good way to celebrate is to support your local shelters, rescues, & pet food pantries so they can help more dogs find & keep loving homes!

We are open for donation drop off from 10am-2pm and distribution from 12-2pm!

*CLIENTS: Please stay in your vehicle upon arrival & add yourself to the waitlist on our website. Follow the prompts carefully as they may have changed.

‼️We are asking folks to park on the street or in the empty lot across the street until you receive the text that it is your turn to come up to the building & pick up your items. We will only call you up when we have a parking spot available. You may use that time to also quickly look through our little free store but we will not be able to page the next family until you’re done so please only take what you need. ‼️

🐾 Oh, and check out this sweetie pie, Mama Caramel, who is adoptable through Saving Souls Pet Alliance Pet Rescue - her kids all got homes but she’s still hoping to find hers! 🐾

🥰 goes out to 🌟our amazing volunteers who drive around to pick up & unload donations, 🌟to the wonderful folks who drop off donations at our barrels, & 🌟to the awesome local shops that allow us the space to keep our donation barrels/bins!!!

We are 100% donation based & volunteer run so we truly could NOT exist without our community coming together like it does! 🫶🏽

We accept all sorts of items at our barrels/bins - from 👉🏽collars or toys your pet grew out of to 👉🏽a new food or treat your picky pet tried but didn’t love to 👉🏽items that are on our wish list you picked up while you were out grocery shopping (including items for our ‘People Pantry’)!

🤩Today our volunteer’s Sam & Maggie of Neko Taiyaki dropped off some donations they’ve picked up but they did it in STYLE! (If you haven’t tried their taiyaki, highly recommend!)

Dogs don't come pre-loaded with an understanding of our rules, our schedules, or our expectations. They come with instincts, drives, and needs that are thousands of years in the making. It's on us to provide safe, authorized outlets for those needs and to remember that living with humans is something they have to learn, not something they just know.
