Our hearts go out to our old neighbors at 705 11th NW! We’re happy to hear everyone, including pets, made it out safely - now we hope they’re able to find housing soon!

☀️Summertime always means more events which means we ask a bit more of our already stretched thin volunteer team to table community events to spread the word of our mission!

❤️We absolutely love being involved in as many community events as possible, meeting community members, & having a great time outside of our regular volunteer duties! We are 100% volunteer run which means that we would never be able to do what we do without this amazing group of animal lovers!

💕It’s as well as so we wanted to give a BIG shout out to the folks who have volunteered at our annual FREE microchip clinics!

💉We have a group of techs from CSNIP who have volunteered their time year after year to help us ensure that we are microchipping as safely & effectively as possible. Additionally, we couldn’t make these events happen without our pantry volunteers who dedicate their time to making sure the clinics run smoothly & keep them as organized as possible! We have also been lucky enough to have volunteer vets from time to time as well!

🗓️ This years clinics start next month - in May, July, & September - & we’re so excited to be able to continue to offer this free service to our community. In addition, thanks to we’re also able to offer free DHPP & FVRCP vaccines!

💙Back in January we received an email from Roy at Dematic saying “I hope my note finds you well. One of our employees has requested a community donation to Pleasant Hearts Pet Food Pantry.”

⏩️Fast forward to last weekend when we opened the mailbox to find an envelope with a $500 check enclosed!!

💙A big thank you to whoever suggested us & to Dematic for your support!

*️⃣One super cool way you can help, even from your workplace, is to ask them if they have any community giving programs, if they’d be willing to hold a pet food drive, or if they’d be willing to host a donation barrel! If you have any ideas of other ways, we love to heard them!

❤️Can you help us fill our cat food shelves after last weekend’s distribution?? Distribution days have only been getting busier & we get new client forms daily with no sign of that trend slowing down!🐈

Our biggest needs currently are:
🐾Canned 🐱 food!!!
🐾Dry 🐱 food
🐾🐱& 🐶 flea/tick prevention

We fill our shelves 2 hours before distribution & by the end, they’re often close to empty or bare! Our volunteers pick up donations in the weeks between distribution days, we receive items off of our wishlists, we purchase items that were low on, & we receive many emails/messages from folks who are in need of assistance or who are hoping to help.

💛We can only continue because of our hugely supportive community!!! THANK YOU from the bottom of our Pleasant Hearts!💛

💟Saturday was a very lovely spring distribution day! We love the weather but we stayed busy from start (unloading/repackaging/organizing), middle (hanging out with our clients for distribution), to the end (empty shelves being refilled by 2 pallets from /)! The new client emails & messages asking for assistance just keep rolling in - we can only continue our mission of keeping families together with YOUR help! 💟

🥰A very going out to all of our donation barrel partners, their patrons who have filled the barrels, & our volunteers who have picked up from them in the past couple of weeks!!! It means so much to us that folks are willing to go out of their way to drop donations off, we’re lucky to have so many local spots who support our mission & make it more convenient for donations! Petco Love has donated 300 vaccines for us to administer to pets at our Microchip Clinics this year - 200 DAPPv (Dog Distemper/Parvo) & 100 HCP (Panleukopenia aka Cat ‘Distemper’)! That means 300 pets can get microchipped AND vaccinated for FREE!
