Congratulations to CASSIUS! 🐾🎉

It was SO close! All three of our finalists received a ton of votes! After 24 hours of voting and so much love from our community, Cassius has officially been crowned our Bark to School Cover Pet Model! Cassius will be featured front and center on all of our posters and social media graphics for the GRPBA Bark to School Trivia Night Fundraiser at City Built 📸✨

You all showed up and showed OUT! 🐾🐱

The response to our Cover Pet model search absolutely blew us away, and narrowing things down was no easy task! Every single submission had us smiling. Before we reveal the finalists, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate ALL of the pets who entered 😍

This has been a lot of fun to put together, and seeing your pets in their back-to-school best made it even better!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for sharing your pets and participating. We loved seeing your gentle giants, your velcro pets, your couch potatoes, and your absolute sweethearts 🥰 every one of them is gorgeous!

We also loved reading the stories you shared about your pets in your emails, and hearing about where you adopted or rescued them from. 💕

The canned dog food shelf is filling back up!

Our friends at the Kent County Animal Shelter could use some cans of wet dog food currently, all that's left is prescription food for specific dogs. The shelter is in need of REGULAR canned dog food: pate, gravy, and cuts-style varieties, any brand and any flavor.

Prescription food is NOT needed.

Canned food is regularly used to help administer meds to dogs in the shelter's care. In addition, some dogs need it added to their food if they aren't eating the dry food, or if they need a softer food to eat.

You can bring donations of canned dog food directly to the shelter. There's a donation bin at the main entrance where you can leave those items.

Thank you so much for considering a donation, we truly appreciate your kindness and support for the Kent County Animal Shelter!

Need help feeding your pets or in need of some pet supplies?

Drive up remain in your car and volunteers will guide you. Please bring a reusable grocery bag to put supplies in.

• School-themed photos encouraged but not required — think backpacks, books, apples, chalkboards, and back-to-school vibes!

Grab your team and get ready for a night of trivia, laughs, and giving back! We've got classic trivia rounds PLUS some fun "classwork" mixed in between Spelling Bee Showdown, Musical Chairs, Show & Tell at the mic and more!

Every dollar raised goes straight to our pet food bank, last year we distributed over 17,000 lbs of pet food to local families in need, plus supplies such as treats, crates, flea & tick prevention, toys, and more. 🐶🐾

HOW TO ENTER:

Why spay/neuter is required:
We are firm in our belief that spaying and neutering prevents pet overpopulation in animal shelters and prevents exploitation of animals. Spay and Neuter of pets is a essential part of reducing the homeless pet population and the amount of pets that enter our animal shelter system yearly. For this reason, only spayed or neutered pets are eligible to enter.
