We are incredibly grateful to announce that Angels in the Making was voted Best of the West 2026 – Silver! 🥈🎉

While we may have earned Silver, we are incredibly proud of the 5-star training experience we provide our clients and their dogs. At Angels in the Making, we believe in 100% positive reinforcement training and, most importantly, building a strong, lasting bond between humans and their dogs.

Happy National Dog Day...Today is a day to:

Celebrate Working Dogs: Recognize service dogs, therapy dogs, police K9 units, and search-and-rescue dogs.

Promote Adoption: Support local rescues and encourage the adoption of dogs from shelters.

Appreciate All Breeds: Celebrate purebreds, mixed breeds, and mutts alike.

Thank you to Dist 51 career center for inviting us out for a hands on lab and seminar about dog body language, and staying safe while working with animals. It fills our hearts to help and coach the next generation of animal care givers as they explore potential careers working with animals.

We are feeling joy & grateful! Thank you Brittainy Arnold for sharing your feedback from the Basic Angels Class and Rumor's progress with us. It was a pleasure having you and Rumor in class, and we are so happy to hear how well she is doing.

Google Review:

We took the Basic Angels Class with my girl Rumor, We needed more variety in her socialization around new people and dogs than we could get on our off grid property.

Richie was great, he recognized that she was quickly becoming more advanced in aspects of the training and adjusted what I did with her to match that and still challenge her within the scope of focus for class that day and he helped us a lot with her stranger shyness and gave me specific things to work on that have helped immensely with being in public with her. While she still barely lets anyone touch her she is getting more tolerant and she is no longer worried about people around her and will even accept treats from them. She's even gotten to a point we were able to pass the AKC trick dog novice title test (thanks for filming my submission before class Richie!)

The training style here for groups seems to be more about developing a strong bond, trust, communication and more focus from your pup vs very strict obedience and I think it works incredibly well! Richie was great at moving through the space and testing the pups with odd objects and noises, giving notes and advice and taking time with everyone and taking an extra moment for those who needed it.

Rumor went from being extremely distractible to now going on off leash walks around our property without worry, as well as being calm and totally manageable in public spaces where she used to be very nervous and jumpy. The real problem I'm going to have now is trying to keep up with her brain and energy because she loves to learn!

I am so pleased with her progress and highly recommend anyone looking for positive reinforcement training to call Angels in the Making. You won't regret it!

Tuesdays we get to work with our city's shelter dogs and it's so much fun! We offer mental enrichment, a break from the kennels and a chance to bond with humans! My 10:30 Mesa County Animal Services class had Mom Thimble and her daughter Thalia. My noon class was Roice-Hurst Humane Society with 3 of their dogs, Shaquita, Chance and Wizard. In the video they are taking a break from learning and just practicing calmness. All of these dogs are available for adoption!
