Could your pet survive the heat today?

Heat stroke can escalate quickly and become life threatening before you even realize something is wrong. In this video, Dr. White from Animal Emergency Clinic of Northeast walks through what to watch for and how to act fast.

Early signs can include heavy panting, excessive drooling, vomiting, lethargy, or trouble walking. Some pets are at higher risk, especially flat faced breeds like Bulldogs and Pugs, senior or overweight pets, and those with thick coats.

If you’re concerned, move your pet to a cool area, offer small amounts of water, and use cool not cold water to help bring their temperature down while you head in to see your local emergency care team.

Prevention goes a long way. Avoid peak heat hours, never leave pets in a car, and make sure they always have access to shade and water. If you think your pet may be experiencing heat stroke, seek emergency veterinary care immediately.

That “after” photo is why we love dental days. 🦷✨

This patient’s dental procedure included a thorough oral assessment, dental X-rays, ultrasonic cleaning above and below the gumline, polishing, and extractions where periodontal disease had caused significant damage.

Bad breath is not just “dog breath” - it can be a sign of painful dental disease hiding below the gumline. Regular dental exams and cleanings help keep pets healthier, more comfortable, and smiling brighter. 🐾

☀️ Summer fun is better when our pups stay safe!

As temperatures rise, dogs can overheat faster than many people realize. Before heading out for walks, hikes, lake days, or backyard play, keep these summer safety tips in mind:

🐾 Walk early in the morning or later in the evening
🐾 Check pavement with the back of your hand - if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws
🐾 Always bring fresh water
🐾 Never leave your dog in a parked car, even for “just a minute”
🐾 Watch for signs of overheating: heavy panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse
🐾 Make sure pets have shade and breaks from the heat

If your dog seems overheated, move them to a cool area, offer water, and call your veterinarian right away.

Stay cool, stay safe, and enjoy those sunny days together! 🐶☀️

Celebrating Memorial Day tomorrow is a time to remember the heroes who gave everything for our country; both two-legged and four-legged. ❤️🤍💙

As we spend time with family, friends, and our pets this weekend, we’re holding gratitude close for the sacrifices that allow us these moments together. We will be closed tomorrow, May 25th.

Wishing you and your furry family members a safe, peaceful, and meaningful Memorial Day!

Most pets with arthritis don’t limp.

You might notice slowing down on walks, hesitation to jump, stiffness after rest, or just “not acting like themselves.” These small changes can be early signs of joint pain. The good news is there are ways to help support your pet’s comfort and mobility.

Have you noticed any of these changes in your pet? Let’s talk. Our team is here to help.

Corgi care comes in all sizes 🐾
From tiny paws and puppy wiggles to seasoned corgi sass, we love caring through pets through every stage of life. Wellness visits help us keep an eye on growth, changes, and overall health; even when the patient is mostly here to steal hearts and shed on our scrubs.

Thanks to this corgi crew for making our day a little brighter! ☀️
