Value Pet Clinic is looking for an entry to intermediate level System Administrator to join our team on a part-time basis. Our information systems make it possible for our doctors and staff to deliver high quality care to our patients efficiently in a fast-paced walk-in clinic environment. Your ability to implement and maintain effective technical solutions will contribute directly to our vision of making veterinary care accessible to all pet owners. Flexible hours and a hybrid work model allow you to set your own schedule and work from anywhere in the Seattle/Tacoma area (must be able to travel to Bellevue and Puyallup locations when needed).
Responsibilities will include:
● Day to day management of our existing hardware and software infrastructure to ensure continued and smooth operation, including installing software updates, configuration of network devices and identifying prudent upgrades.
● Maintaining of a Windows domain environment including the use of Active Directory and Group Policy to centrally configure PCs and deploy applications, drivers and scripts.
● Guarding against threats to the security of the IT environment by employing industry best practice, ACLs, network segmentation, redundancy, backups, etc. while prioritizing the biggest risks and balancing them against the needs of the business.
● Troubleshooting issues encountered by staff and resolve them with the assistance of third party support provided by our vendors.
● Supporting future expansion of the network to solve pain points and provide an improved user and client experience.
● Researching technical solutions and purchasing of appropriate hardware and software products to address identified needs.
A successful candidate is not expected to have experience in all of these areas but should possess a spirit of curiosity, desire to learn and willingness to take on responsibilities incrementally over time. You must be able to evidence a pattern of self-directed learning and
supplementing your own knowledge with resources produced by other industry professionals. In addition, to be considered a good fit for the role, you should demonstrate effective written and
verbal communication skills as well as a strong empathy for users.
Benifits:
The chosen candidate will be eligible to receive a $4,500.00 bonus after their 90 day probationary period. Sick pay will be given according to Washington State Policy.
