Duncan traveled all the way from Maryland to train with us at K9one. Back home, he shares a house with two Golden Retrievers who already graduated from our program.

Even with experienced pack mates, doorway chaos was still the daily routine.

​Allowing a dog to scratch at the glass or throw themselves at the threshold teaches them that frantic energy opens the door. Some owners believe it to be excitement. In reality, it is a rehearsed habit where the dog has learned that chaotic movement gets results.

​Calmness is required before entry or exit is granted. Teach them to sit, hold position, and wait for the release word before crossing the threshold.
