We are so excited to be participating in Northwest Corner Gives this July! Created by Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation, Northwest Corner Gives is an online giving platform that helps organizations raise matching funds. This means that your gift given July 1-22 will be MATCHED by Northwest CT Community Foundation, up to $2500, helping us reach our $5000 goal.

Funds raised during support bringing the First Oval Office Project to Litchfield County. The First Oval Office Project is a hand-stitched replica of George Washington’s Revolutionary War Tent – the mobile headquarters and command center of the Continental Army.

As the First Oval Office Project’s only stop in the state of Connecticut in 2026, we are working to maximize access to this one-of-a-kind event. Our Family Day on October 3 will be a low-cost community event, welcoming families and individuals from across the Northwest Corner.

Calling all Patriotic Pets and Pet-lovers! ! The Litchfield’s Historical Society’s 28th Annual 4th of July Pet Parade returns Saturday, July 4th from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. in the Tapping Reeve Meadow.

All pets - dogs, cats, pigs, parakeets, snails, or stuffed animals – are invited to the Tapping Reeve Meadow for a free Independence Day Celebration. Bring your pet to the judge’s booth before joining the parade around 3:00. After the award ceremony, everyone can enjoy old-fashioned amusements, including sack races, tug-of-war contests, photo booth, and an ice cream social with ice cream generously donated by

Pets must be on a leash or in a cage, and if applicable, must be up to date with immunizations. Parade registration begins at 2:15.
