Gila County Animal Care and Control would like to provide an update to the residents of the City of Globe regarding a recent pack of dogs running at large within the downtown Globe area.
Recently, Animal Control Officers were made aware of a pack of dogs that had been roaming throughout the downtown area, including Hackney Avenue. Officers responded on multiple occasions and attempted to safely capture the dogs; however, due to the dogs continuously running from officers, those attempts were unsuccessful.
Today, Animal Control once again received reports that the dogs were in the downtown Globe area and were acting aggressively. Officers immediately responded and located the pack, but the dogs again fled the area. Animal Control Officers continued to track and follow the dogs, and one officer was eventually able to follow them back to a nearby yard. At that location, officers successfully captured all seven dogs without injury.

We would like to thank the public for their patience, support, and understanding during this incident. Capturing loose and aggressive dogs can be extremely difficult and often requires multiple officers, coordination, and time to ensure the safety of both the public and the animals involved.
Gila County Animal Care and Control would also like to recognize our Animal Control Officers for their professionalism, persistence, and outstanding work in safely resolving this situation.
Thank you,
