For years, our friends at Sunshine & Moons, LLC have donated their incredible desserts to Dressed to the K9s, and they’re doing it again this year! Their generosity makes our gala even sweeter, and ensures every dollar raised goes straight to helping pets in need 🐾
Luma might not get to sample these treats herself (sorry, Luma!), but YOU can enjoy them on event night. 🎟️ Don’t miss out: https://secure.qgiv.com/event/dtk9s25/
Spike is 10-years-old, weighs 10lbs, and will make a 10/10 best friend.
Our tiny Chihuahua is always on the hunt for a lap to jump into and is ready for a pal to be by his side. To burn some energy, Spike will entertain himself by tossing squeakies around and then chase them down (we heard he’s not a fan of sharing his favorite toys and treats though, sounds fair!). He’s a good little leash walker and has done well coexisting with other dogs who are respectful of his age and size.
Now that Spike has had his recent shelter dental with radiographs (thanks to our shelter med team), he’s ready to exit the building!
Give us a call, get your adoption survey in, or come on by to say Hi to all of the dogs! The shelter is open Tues-Sun 11:00-5:00 (including today!). https://www.coloradoanimalrescue.org/dogs/

Meet Mama Turtle and her 3 kittens, Marmalade, Greyson, and Tabitha!
A friend of the shelter found this little family out in Parachute, and kept them cared for and started on socialization until it was time to come to C.A.R.E.
And now they’re ready for new homes! Everyone’s gotten the works medically (age-appropriate), have had a lot of attention from our kitten-loving volunteers, and are on the hunt for new homes (where they’ll want nothing but love and patience, and tons of fun with cat trees, cat grass, toy time, and of course nutritious food and vet care too).
If you’re ready for a new friend (or two!) to join you this holiday weekend, come on by, WE ARE OPEN TODAY (Sunday 8/31 from 11:00-5:00)!
*We can’t place holds on specific kittens before your visit, but happy to introduce you to the whole crew available (and if you miss out, don’t worry, we have more kittens who will be ready next week!). https://www.coloradoanimalrescue.org/cats/

from Peachie!
Our 7-year-old shelter cat can usually be found perched up high in our cat tree, snoozing away the day. Peachie can easily be tempted into socializing when a tasty treat or brushing is involved though (she likes to keep her long fur soft for plenty of pets!).
After losing her owner, it took Peachie a few weeks to settle in, but we’re happy to see that she’s got a little pep to her and is ready for someone new to step in and take over as her best friend. She wasn’t so sure about having other cats around either, but has turned out to enjoy life in our catroom with other friendly felines.
Let’s get Peachie the purrfect home, she deserves it! https://www.coloradoanimalrescue.org/cats/

Ready for some cool cattle dog energy? Look no further than Luma!
Our 2-year-old shelter dog has a confident side that’s full of fun, and can’t get enough of her toys, time spent in the great outdoors, and talking to whoever will listen.
Luma also has a soft and sensitive side and would love a bestie to curl up on the couch with at the of the day. She lived with and adored another dog too!
At 35lbs, Luma is a great little size, and comes house-trained, crate-trained, and with a few tricks.
If you think Luma might be the next member of your family, or your personal BFF, get your adoption survey in or give us a call today! https://www.coloradoanimalrescue.org/dogs/

Sally came to C.A.R.E. after her landlords said no thanks to cats 😤
We’ve heard our long-haired 4-year-old is a part time adventurer, ready to get silly with toy time (bird wand anyone!), chow down on cat grass, and be where the people are. Her other part time job is as a couch potato, so she's got a good mix going!
Sally also found a best friend and bed time buddy with the dog in her previous home, so bring on a cat-friendly dog if you have one!
Ready to rescue your very own shelter cat? Come on by and meet Sally and the rest of the C.A.R.E. cat crew. The shelter is open 11:00-5:00 Tues-Sun. https://www.coloradoanimalrescue.org/cats/

This worried little guy is Munchie.
Our partners at For Pets' Sake took him when he needed a place to go and found him a wonderful foster home while he waited to make his way here.
Munchie is only about a year old, and sadly kind of scared of life. Luckily we know that he can find comfort and joy in other gentle dogs (and kittens too!) and warm and fuzzy people (lap time is the best!). His foster mom let us know that he’s very motivated by cookies and toys, prefers a chin scratch over a head rub, is potty trained, and walks well on a leash. These are a lot of great qualities!
We imagine our little 10lb shelter dog would love a calm and cool home without a lot of noise and chaos, someone who will continue to help him get brave, and a home with a best pet friend for him too!
If that new BFF might be you, give our team a call to hear more, or get your adoption survey in! https://www.coloradoanimalrescue.org/dogs/
