Since 1985 Carbondale Animal Hospital has served the pets of the Roaring Fork Valley, offering outstanding veterinary care throughout it's long history. The philosophy of this small mountain town pet clinic has been steadfast and successful throughout the years; continually advancing compassionate veterinary care in a warm, welcoming environment. As veterinary medicine progresses, we continue to d

evelop more advanced diagnostic, medical, dental, and surgical technology. Carbondale Animal Hospital believes in blending all the capability of modern medicine with a practical, evidence based approach to patient care.

Chronic ear infections are a drag and we hate to see pups miserable. This is often a symptom of a broader allergic response, however. Daily medications or as-needed injections significantly improve symptoms, but can be a bumpy road. The good news is, elimination diets can help us determine if the allergy is related to food ingredients or the environment. This informs behavioral changes that can be made to reduce exposure, diet choices that accommodate allergies, and, with reduced flare-ups, we can reduce the need for medical intervention.

🚨Allergy parents beware: determining allergies is a lengthy and often disheartening process. Answers are often elusive and sometimes leave us with nothing more than an informed guess. Managing symptoms and exposure are the ultimate goal and we are invested in discovering as much information as possible to help your pet live freely.

Join us in wishing the incredible Dr. Ben a Very Happy 50th Birthday today! You know him as the intelligent, snarky animal lover and fearless leader of Carbondale Animal Hospital. He is also Captain of Team Dad Jokes, effortless educator of school children, the most hilarious team member, and the first to hit the 30-second dance party button for which all employees are bound by oath to dance for the full 30 seconds. He can eat while describing the grossest stuff, loves a wild and complex surgery, and can explain the most complicated concepts to any human in a way they can understand. He has spend 50 years on this planet making us laugh and building heart-warming relationships with everyone he encounters.
