🚨 SCAM ALERT for Williamson County Families🚨

We’ve been made aware of a distressing scam targeting local families with lost pets.

Scammers are calling residents claiming their lost pet is at the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter and needs emergency surgery—then demanding payment.

⚠️ THIS IS A SCAM.
✅ WCRAS will NEVER call to request payment for surgery.
✅ WCRAS will NEVER withhold care from an injured pet due to payment.
✅ Scammers are using caller ID spoofing to make it look like the call is coming from our shelter.

Do NOT send money to anyone claiming to be from WCRAS and demanding immediate payment for medical care.

🔍 If your pet is missing and at our shelter, they will be posted on our Lost Pets Page (https://www.wilcotx.gov/167/Lost-Found) and on Petco Love Lost.

📢 Please share this post to help protect fellow families.

Your vigilance helps keep our community safe. Thank you🐾

🌟 Raven’s Big Day Out! 🌟

This is what one of our amazing Volunteers had to say about the outing!

Raven finally got a much-needed DDO today, and wow… this girl made the most of every second. 💛

From the moment we left for Old Settlers Park, she had her nose in the breeze, letting the air hit her face like she’d been waiting for this exact moment. First stop? A well-deserved pup cup—because every queen needs her treat before an adventure. 👑🐾

We cuddled, we explored, and Raven took in the fall colors and peaceful water views with this sweet, curious calm that just melts you. On the way back, she hopped right into the front seat and tried to curl up for a nap on my lap… like she was saying, “Can we stay like this forever?” ❤️

It’s unbelievable that this fun, affectionate, spirited girl has spent 2 years in the shelter without a real break. She has so much love to give, and she deserves a home where car rides, pup cups, cuddles, and naps aren’t rare—they’re her everyday life. 🏡✨

If someone’s looking for a loyal, playful, heart-melting companion… Raven is your girl.

Let’s find her the loving home she’s been waiting far too long for. ❤️🐾

If you are interested in meeting Raven, stop by the shelter! We are open every day from 12-6pm (excluding holidays)!

🥧✨ Pie Challenge Update! ✨🥧
First week down and we’re officially at 15 pies and rolling, literally! 😆

The momentum is strong, the pies are flying, and we’re feeling on pace to smash last year’s record! Keep it up Wilco… this pie train isn’t slowing down! 🚂🥧🔥

Remember every adoption, foster, reunion, or doggy day out counts!

About our page

WCRAS accepts all animals from within our jurisdiction regardless of health, age, temperament whether there is space or not. Adoptions and owner reclaims are vital for the shelter to continue to save at least 90% of the animals that enter the shelter. Currently WCRAS has been saving 90% or more for over three years. We only euthanize for medical that no longer have a good quality of life, or for behavior issues that make the animal unsafe to place in a home. WCRAS also relies on donations to pay for all the medical illness and/or injuries that come into the shelter. Without that support, all these animals would have to be euthanized. Thank you for sharing the animals in need of homes and supporting WCRAS!
