🤔 Can You Guess What This Pup Swallowed? 🐾🩻
Take a look at this x-ray—see that perfectly round shape? 👀⚽🏀🏐🎾 It might look familiar...

One of our canine patients came in feeling under the weather, and it turns out this mystery object was the reason why. 😬
He ended up needing surgery to have it removed—but we’re happy to report he’s on the mend and doing great! 💪🐶

Any guesses? Drop them in the comments! ⬇️

👉 Let’s talk foreign bodies—those unexpected (and often dangerous!) things pets swallow but shouldn’t.
It happens more often than you’d think. Dogs and cats can ingest all kinds of things:
🧸 Toys
🧦 Clothing
🍖 Bones
🪨 Rocks
…and yes, even entire balls.

When this happens, it can cause:
🔸 Vomiting
🔸 Lethargy
🔸 Abdominal pain
🔸 Loss of appetite
🔸 Serious intestinal blockages

⚠️ If left untreated, foreign bodies can lead to emergency surgery—or even life-threatening complications.
That’s why early detection and prompt veterinary care are so important.

🐾 Escape Attempt in Progress! 🚨

This cute pup was going to walk herself right out of the clinic... Unfortunately, her leash had other plans. 😅🐾

🐶 Summer is a popular time to bring home a new puppy, and those early weeks are the perfect time to start veterinary care on the right paw. 💉Your puppy’s first wellness exam should happen around 6–8 weeks of age to ensure they’re healthy, protected, and set up for a lifetime of good care.

At CKVC, we’re here for every wobbly step, tail wag, and milestone along the way. 💚 📞 Call us at 502-863-0868 to schedule your puppy's first exam!

🐾 It’s the last day of June—and the last day of National Adopt a Cat Month! 🐱💙
We couldn’t resist sharing these adorable “kitten burritos” with Dr. Xu and some of our cozy feline friends all bundled up! 🫶🌯

While Adopt a Cat Month is coming to a close, the need for loving homes and responsible pet care is ongoing. Spaying and neutering is critical in reducing the number of homeless cats and kittens in our community. 🆘

We’re proud to work with amazing local rescues like:
🐾 The Scott County Humane Society
🐾 Scott County Animal Care & Control
🐾 PAWS 4 The Cause
🐾 Helping Hounds
Each one has the purr-fect feline companion waiting to meet you. 💖🐈

Need to schedule a spay or neuter? Give us a call! We’re happy to answer any questions you have about the procedure and why it’s such an important part of lifelong pet health. 📞 502-863-0868

OK, we might’ve gone a little overboard… 🤪🐶
But we HAD to know—what would our dogs look like as people? So we asked ChatGPT to help us find out, and now we can’t unsee it. 😂

These are the human versions of some of our team’s own pets—and honestly, we think they clean up pretty well (even if they still act like total goofballs).

Curious what your dog would look like as a human? Just upload a photo into ChatGPT and ask it to work its magic. You’ll be amazed (and maybe a little freaked out 🤯). Already tried it? WE HAVE to see! Share your dog-turned-human pics in the comments—we can't wait to see them! 👇
