Let’s get to know… Daryl Whitmoyer! ⭐️
Daryl has been part of the Madison Hills family since 2013! A favorite memory of hers was in January 2025 at WEF, she and her talented hunter, Sovereign, made an unforgettable comeback, winning a class with an 86 after a long recovery from colic surgery. It was a moment of pure reward for the entire team after months of patience, care, and determination!
If you take a peek inside Daryl’s show trunk, you’ll see a very special patch pinned to the lid with beloved late trainer Mike Rheinheimer’s famous horse show advice, “Ride the horse you have today.” It’s a daily reminder of Mike, and it brings perspective and gratitude to her time in the ring.
When it comes to the arena, gymnastics are her go-to exercise, and her dream horse to ride would have been the incredible “Catch Me” — she still remembers that famous jump with awe. She doesn’t mind rolling up her sleeves for grooming and tacking up, calling it the best way to truly connect with your horse! Her favorite part of barn life is “Tack Room Talk,” in those moments when riders of all ages are laughing, cleaning tack, and sharing stories that make the barn feel like home!
Now for Daryl’s rapid-fire round: 🔥⏱️ This or That…
Grey or Bay: Bay (her junior horse was a grey, and she remembers how hard it was to keep clean!)
Early morning schooling or night class under the lights: Early morning
Hot day or cold day at the barn: Cold, especially those cool fall mornings in Ohio when the mist burns off the fields
Mare or Gelding: Gelding
Green prospect or seasoned veteran: Seasoned veteran
We loved getting to know and we hope you did too!
