Crate training is important
Crate training does not mean locking your puppy up 20 hours a day.
It is an invaluable skill for them to have. It is about making them comfortable and safe in their own space.
It is about giving them a safe space to be when you cannot actively watch them.
It helps with housebreaking, by making it easier to get them in the habit of pottying in the correct place.
It helps them be less stressed and more comfortable if they have to spend time at the vet's office.
It keeps them contained and safe if you have to leave them in a hotel room.
It gives them a safe space should they need to have movement restricted, like when recovering from an injury or from surgery.
It also gives them a safe place to be in the car. If you get into an accident it prevents your dog from becoming a projectile and if a door pops open during an accident, it keeps your dog contained.
