We are open 8:30-12:30 today for Walk-in’s.

***We will be closed next Friday (8/7) and Saturday (8/8). Dr. Marks will be out of town after closing on Thursday and will return Sunday evening***

When Dr. Marks is not available for emergencies:
All small animal emergencies are referred to Gadsden Veterinary Associates Emergency Care, LLC. Livestock emergencies will need to call their closest on-call veterinarian who sees livestock.

Happy HOT Saturday Morning,
We are open 8:30-12:30 for walk-in’s.

Keep those pets cool during these hot days:
1) limit exercise to early morning or late evening, don’t let them chase the kids on golf carts (heat stroke happens this way)
2) check water source often
3) put a fan on them
4) know the signs of heat exhaustion and seek medical help as early as possible
5) do not leave pets in parked cars, utvs, tractors, etc.
6) if the surface is too hot for you to leave your hand applied to it, it’s too hot for your pet to walk on

**We are open today and tomorrow if you need to pick up meds to help with fireworks anxiety**

Fireworks, picnics and other Fourth of July traditions can be great fun for people. But all of the festivities can be frightening and even dangerous for animals. Noisy fireworks and other celebrations can startle animals and cause them to run away; holiday foods can be unhealthy; summer heat and travel can be dangerous; and potentially dangerous debris can end up lying on the ground where animals can eat or play with it.

Whether or not you're planning your own Independence Day celebration, it's important to take precautions to keep animals safe both during and after Fourth of July festivities.

- Make sure your pet has identification on their collar or microchip
- take current pictures of your pets
- secure your fencing
- bring anxious pets inside just before dark
