Congratulations to Miss Luna! It was love at first sight, and she truly sealed the deal by showing how well she gets along with cats. Yoshi looks like he’s had a tough start in life — you can see it in the worry on his sweet face. He came to Animal Rescue of Fresno (ARF) to avoid euthanasia after no one came looking for him during his stray hold. While we may never know his full story, his eyes tell us everything: this boy is longing for a family to love and a place to finally call home.

When Yoshi first arrived, he was understandably nervous and scared. Even now, when meeting new people, he can be unsure as he tries to decide whether he’s about to be hurt or loved. When he feels overwhelmed, he finds comfort in his plastic kennel, which has become his safe space.

But once Yoshi learns to trust you, his true personality shines. With the volunteers he knows and loves, he is affectionate, devoted, and eager for attention. He happily soaks up affection and would adore having a lap or cozy couch to call his own.

Yoshi recently received much-needed dental care. He was missing 11 teeth and had 13 more removed, but he is healing beautifully and already feeling much better. Despite everything he’s endured, his gentle spirit remains.

Because of his sensitive nature, we recommend a home with older children. Yoshi will need time, patience, and understanding as he adjusts to a new environment — but with love and consistency, he will absolutely blossom.

If your heart has room for an underdog who simply wants to belong, Yoshi may be the perfect addition to your family. 💕

Our second story of the day is about Precious, our senior pug estimated to be around 10 years old.

This family was absolutely amazing — they fell in love with her instantly. We had a meet and greet, and from that moment on, it was history. Precious now has a new family and a fur brother who will show her all the tricks of the trade.

We are beyond happy that Precious, a senior girl, has been given a new lease on life. Since being here, she only had one other person inquire about her, which makes this adoption even more special. Precious was truly a joy to have at ARF, and many of our volunteers found themselves falling in love with her as well.

But in the end, she now has a new mommy and daddy to love her for the rest of her days. We are so appreciative of this family for adopting a senior dog and giving her a place to finally hang up her leash, rest, and enjoy her forever home.

There is no doubt Precious is going to be spoiled for the rest of her life, and we cannot wait to hear how she is doing in her new home! ❤️

Seniors rock as two of them get home ❤️🐾

Here is the first update on adoption for our 8-year-old Chihuahua, Georgia.

The heart knows what the heart knows, and that is certainly the case for Ms. Georgia. Throughout the years, volunteers — myself included — would often say, “Why is this sweet girl or boy still here?” In my almost 20 years in rescue, one thing I have learned is this: the dogs always know their people.

Here at ARF, we have been seeing that lately with dogs who have been with us for years finally finding their forever homes. Some dogs are simply harder to adopt for one reason or another, and they wait patiently for that special somebody. That was Georgia’s story… until yesterday.

Yes, she had people interested in her before. They would go through the application process only to decide the timing was not right. In some cases, we even knew it was not the right match. But as you can see from this picture, Ms. Georgia knew exactly who her person was — she was simply waiting for all the stars to align perfectly.

And they finally did.

This senior girl is now being spoiled and loved exactly as she deserves while she decompresses in her new forever home. We are beyond thrilled that this 8-year-old sweetheart now has a brand-new lease on life.

Please join us in celebrating Ms. Georgia’s adoption! We are especially excited because one of our very own volunteers welcomed her into the family, so we know we will continue to receive lots of happy updates from her new life. ❤️
