Have you heard of our Tooth Fairy Fund? Twisty & Meems are just 2 of the cats that have benefited from the generosity of those who have donated to the Tooth Fairy Fund. The Tooth Fairy Fund gives them permanent relief thru dental surgery. Many of the cats that come to us have survived on low quality foods and have been exposed to viruses that impact their immune response and development of their teeth and gums. As a result, they have horrible dental disease.

The simple act of trying to eat is painful. We treat all immediately for pain and infection, but the real solution is a “feline dental”: surgery to remove the infected, eroded teeth, and clean the healthy teeth. The result is instant relief and the ability to eat without pain. James G, Jackson and Gee Gee are just a few of the shelter cats that are waiting on the Tooth Fairy Fund so they can have their dental procedure for tarter buildup, gingivitis and extractions. The cost to the shelter through our local veterinarian is $400-$500 (per cat) for a cleaning and $100-$145 for an extraction (per tooth). Please consider donating to our Tooth Fairy Fund so these cats can have a feline dental to get the root of the problem.

This distinguished lady, Gertrude, is 5-years-5-months old. She just loves to lay in the window🪟and nap or watch the world go by! She's such a sweetheart!❤Loves treats!🐾Her adoption fee is $80, this includes her spay, FELV/FIV test, vaccines current, deworming, flea prevention and micro-chipped. Our mission statement is "We are the voice for those who can not speak."

The Humane Society of Sandusky County is a 501c3 non-profit organization that receives no city, county or government funding of any kind, nor any support from the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). All of our monies are derived from local contributions and fund raising. We can do only so much without your assistance-that's why we need your help! Without sufficient contributions and funding our shelter cannot exist-but a shelter is only a bandage to a much bigger problem, pet overpopulation. We beg you to spay/neuter your pet and think of us when it is time to replace your beloved pet.

The Humane Society of Sandusky County was established in 1986. The purpose of the Humane Society is the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals and the establishment of humane educational programs in the Sandusky County school systems and throughout the community.

ADOPTION FEES: DOGS: Puppies $200 Adult Dogs $150 Desirable dog breeds priced at our discretion Adoption Includes: Spay or neuter, heartworm test, age appropriate vaccines current, deworming, monthly heartworm/flea prevention medications and micro-chipped. CATS: Declawed Cats $100 Kittens (Under 1 Year) $100 Adult Cats - $80 All cats are Buy One Get the Second For $20 Adoption Includes: Spay or neuter, FELV/FIV test, age appropriate vaccines current, deworming, monthly flea prevention and micro-chipped.
