Update on Great Cavies Hope

Hope is doing amazing and is already one of our loudest wheekers in the wheeking chorus. She's growing well and an amazing eater. She didn't want to hold still for her photo though 😂 she was more interested in the carrot props. She is a chocolate carrier and we are excited to see how she matures 😊.

The temperature has finally lowered down to 83°F and feels so much better than it was. We are very grateful all AC units held up and everyone is doing well. We hope it is starting to cool off for everyone that this heat has been affecting lately.

Quick update on the temperature: the heat index currently has the temperature at 99°F but we are under 100°F so that's a good thing 😊.
All of our piggies are currently enjoying some watermelon 🍉 🥰. Our cattle dogs Rocks and Pebbles had a tasty snack to help keep them cool while they went outside this evening and then back into the AC they went (they were only out for a few minutes enough to do their business, both finished their frozen treats inside). Both of them seemed to really enjoy their frozen water bowl filled with different tasty fruits and are both back in their favorite spots on the couch 🥰.

Good morning everyone we hope everybody that is dealing with this heat is staying safe and staying cool. When the dogs went outside this morning just before 6am, the temperature read 78°F with it feeling in the 80's with the air quality making it hard to breathe already this early in the morning. Cannot imagine how it's going to feel later today when it's around 92°F if it's like this already this early in the day. Please please be careful if you have any medical conditions and are in the heat today even for a moment. Please keep an extra eye on all your precious ones in this heat, give them some extra enrichment snacks to help keep them cool and keep checking in on them. Check in on your loved ones during the heat, weather can get to people and animals and always take a few moments to check.

For those of you who don't know earlier this month we experienced a devastating loss... We were out of town when our AC went out in our caviary and we were unable to make it back in time. We lost quite a bit of our herd and we are still having a hard time processing it all but did want to let everyone know what happened. With this heat there are so many mixed up emotions when a month hasn't even passed by and this weather is way worse than the beginning of the month.

This litter is named after two very special people in our lives that birthdays were 05/17 and 05/18. Joni is our grandmother and these two get to share her birthday. Tyler is one of Corey's brothers and his birthday is the day after Gma's. So we named these lovely littles after these two amazing people ☺️.

Amathamdir Rabbitry's Sahara gave birth to a litter of five beautiful littles on 05/17/2025. Three unfortunately didn't make it 😞, a boar and a sow did make it and are now doing amazing 🙌. The boar did have a rough start but is thriving alongside his sister as of today ☺️. Mama is also doing really well and being a wonderful mother to her littles 🥰.

These girls are all looking for a pet only 🏡
We would love to see the Lunkyara sows go together if possible. We have kept back some of each ones litters and just cannot keep everyone, so we have come to a hard decision to let these three lovely ladies go. Community coats We work with transport or could meet locally if local. We will be going to a show this weekend in Brookville, IN (sorry for the last minute heads up for this weekend). We are also going to the Ohio mini convention if anyone would like to meet along either of the routes.
