SDP Buffalo Ranch in Fort Worth is a busy Quarter Horse stallion station, mare repro and sports med facility. Our veterinarian needs a right hand: someone who can take the day-to-day work so he can focus on the medicine.
What you will do:
• Treatments and daily care: bandaging, medications, IV catheters, blood draws, and watching sick and post-op horses
• Foaling season: newborn foal checks, plasma and monitoring
• Repro support for mares or stallions, depending on the day: prepping for ultrasound and breeding, collections, lab work
• Keeping the vet room, supplies and records in order
A license is welcome but not required. Experience is required. We want someone who has done this work with their own hands, who is calm and safe around horses, and who notices when something is off. Most of all, we want someone reliable who takes ownership.
This is full-time with steady core hours. Breeding and foaling season, February through July, brings longer days, and at times on-call. We would rather tell you that now. Horses do not have watches and they don't care about calendars!
