UPDATE:
FROM THE VET, Iris has inflamed bronchi in her lungs, an enlarged heart. Possible tumor above her trachea very esophagus. She presented with 106° temperature which the vet said she could have had a small stroke due to the high temperature. She has some mobility issues which tells me she may have had a slight stroke but she is eating and drinking and peeing but she hasn't pooped in 3 days. We are starting her on laxatone so that she will be able to have a bowel movement hopefully soon. Wednesday when we took her to the vet she was barely moving having difficulty breathing. Thursday after antibiotics and breathing treatments she was moving around eating and just wanted to be held. Today, Friday she is following me around my office and playing with the puppy she's eating good but still hasn't pooped.
The vet is hoping that this enlarged heart will reduce once she is over the inflammation in her lungs. If it doesn't, because of her age and size we are praying that it will correct itself as she grows up. So if you pray, please keep her in your prayers. She needs it.
I want to send out a special thank you to two ladies I've never met that donated funds for the vet bill. We also got one other donation from a lady that always donates. She takes extra shifts in order to be able to donate.
As rescuers, we see so much abuse, neglect, abandonment, starvation and very ill animals. It is heartbreaking it is heartbreaking that we only got one small donation from this post.
The other donations came from my friends family only because I vented to her that no one was donating for this poor baby.
It is a shame that we live in a city that is overrun with strays and people complain about it and when we try to help no one else is there to help us help them. I don't understand this.
If you are somebody who would like to help but can't monetarily help, maybe you can help by fostering animals that need a place to go so that we can get them taken care of and adopted. You can go on our website and fill out application to adopt and or Foster if that is something you can do. Right now all our fosters are full, we need to have more fosters so that we can help these babies that are out on the street with nowhere to go.
PLEASE HELP!!! URGENT HELP NEEDED NOW!!!
IRIS IS SICK.
She came to us with an URI and we treated her. She was doing great then last night she fell ill.
She has major congestion in her lungs and we have been giving her fluids and breathing treatments. Nothing has helped.
She will be going to the FORT SMITH VETERINARY WELLNESS & URGENT CARE CLINIC this morning. We need your help to pay for her treatments. We fear she may have pneumonia.
You can call the clinic directly at 479-763-1170 and tell them you want to donate to Iris's care bill.
Or you can donate through our donations apps below. https://venmo.com/code?user_id=4259335425230283192&created=1743887283.849251&printed=1
