It was an absolute pleasure to be able to award the very first Detective rosette, designed by Pam Schuppe. And thanks to Ronda Bermke for finding and engraving the spy glasses.

We had the pleasure of awarding not only 1, but "4"! Detective titles at our Mother's Day Trial weekend.

The first Detective rosette went to Kristi Murdock and her Standard Poodle "Gabe" (pictured below).

Kristi shared this comment... "Isn't this a cool award for Detective? The engraving reads "Congratulations Detective from FDLCKC"
We travel a lot and were lucky enough to be trialing with Fond du Lac County Kennel Club on Saturday when Gabe earned his Detective title. The club offered two trials of all levels of Interior and Detective each day. They *said* they'd never used Secreterrier before, but I'm not sure I believe them , as it all went so smoothly. The volunteers were very efficient but also really kind and judges Trish McBee Nienow and Kaeli Jake (Brenda Ittner) set super fun searches; I'm not sure I've laughed quite so much during a search as this weekend! The site was a church school and dormitory, side-by-side, and both trials were finished each day by early afternoon, even on Sunday when the church on the other side of the parking lot had 3 (three!) seating's for Mass Just a beautiful job all around -- thank you, FDLCKC, I hope we can trial with you again someday!
(I should add that I spend way more time squinting at old, hard-to-read documents than most normal people do, and am constantly magnifying things... but some archives don't allow you to use your phone! So now I have a lovely magnifying glass to flourish -- it's just perfect!)"

The other handlers and dogs that were awarded the Detective titles were:
Barb Budny and her Australian Shepherd "KC", Colleen Bublitz and her Miniature American Shepherd "Jojo" and Laurel Stone and her Mudi "Mookie".

Congratulations!!!!! and thank you to "ALL" the exhibitors that attended the first of our three trials of 2026

Also, THANK YOU! to our awesome "volunteers"!!!! We could not hold our trials without you!!

Congratulations on your new position at AKC!!!

Ronda Bermke - New Agility Field Representative

Canines and the sport of purebred dogs have been a central part of Ronda Bermke’s life from an early age. Raised in a family actively involved in dog events, she entered her first AKC‑licensed show in 1979 exhibiting a Shetland Sheepdog. With the exception of her college years, she has always shared her life with dogs and has continued to build on that foundation throughout her career.

Ronda established White Ridge Kennels, located just outside Green Bay, Wisconsin, where she has bred, trained, and exhibited multiple dogs across a wide range of AKC events. After acquiring her first Dachshund in 1993, “Kramer,” she achieved numerous milestones in the breed, including earning her first Versatility Certificate.

Ronda is married to Rob, and together they have one adult son, Sam. Their home is currently shared with a Standard Longhaired Dachshund and three Border Collies.

Her involvement in AKC sports is extensive. She has titled multiple dogs in conformation, agility, obedience, rally, herding, scent work, and earthdog. In 2011, Ronda became an agility judge and subsequently earned her junior showmanship, rally, and limited number of breed conformation judging licenses. She has greatly valued her experiences in the ring and the many individuals she has met through judging.

Ronda is enthusiastic about transitioning into the field representative role and is committed to supporting the continued growth and success of the AKC agility program.
