💕🐾 Meet Biggi Small | 8-Year-Old Cat for Adoption 🐾💕

It's taken Biggi Small some time to warm up to life as a lap cat, but with a little patience and lots of treats, he's proven he can settle in and show you just how big his heart is. His foster family is already falling in love... but his reprieve from the shelter can't last forever. 💔

Biggi Small has been an A+ house guest who loves to spend his time cuddling and conversing with anyone who will listen. His litter box manners are excellent, and we have even discovered that he can live peacefully with the other cats in the home.

One thing to note about Biggi Small is that during his time as a stray, he contracted the FIV virus. This retrovirus, found only in cats, can weaken a cat's immune system, but with regular vet visits, a healthy diet, and an indoor-only lifestyle, he can live a long, happy life-- even with FIV-negative cats! 🐾💕

Greg can't see your face or hear your voice. He just feels your kindness and decides that's enough. 🐾

Greg is a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd who navigates the world through scent, touch, and trust. A gentle tap on the floor lets him know you're coming, and he'll meet you right there, ready to play. He's gentle, passed his cat test, and has no body sensitivities.

He recently passed his daycare evaluation at PetSuites, navigating a whole group of dogs like a champ and figuring out pretty quickly which dogs wanted to play and which ones needed space. 🐶 For a pup who can't see or hear, that kind of social awareness is just remarkable, and everyone who meets him falls a little bit in love.

He does best with someone who's patient and present, and willing to take the time to learn how he communicates. Like any dog, Greg will need time to decompress, find his footing, and show you who he really is. The 3-3-3 rule applies here more than ever, three days to decompress, three weeks to learn the routine, three months to truly feel at home. Give him that, and he'll give you everything.

💕🐾 Meet Rosie | 4-Year-Old Cat for Adoption 🐾💕

Rosie may not be the first girl who walks up to you when you enter our cattery, but with the right fit, we know she will blossom into your loyal house cat. The shelter can be a stressful place for a feline who thrives on routine and independence, but Rosie hasn't given up hope in finding her perfect match. 💔

She's not much of a cuddle bug, but with treats, toys, and plenty of play time, she has the potential to become your loyal companion in life. She loves to play, run, and jump all over her cat towers, and she is very attached to the stacked ring toy in her kitty casa. And when in doubt, break out the Temptation cat treats, and Rosie will become your new best friend. 😻

She's litter box trained and ready to claim her place in your home and your heart. If you would like to meet Rosie, stop by the shelter anytime during our open hours, 12-5 pm daily (closed Wednesdays).

MEET HUGO! 🐾

Hugo is 2 years old, 97 pounds, and every single ounce of him is pure teddy bear. He's loving, patient, and the kind of dog who just makes a house feel like a home.

He's lived with kids, cats, and another dog, passed doggie daycare like a champ, and is fully housebroken and crate trained. He knows sit, paw, lie down, and he would absolutely love to learn more and work for a treat.

He's a Husky mix, so yes, there will be brushing. But he's worth it. Completely worth it.

Hugo has been waiting for his people, and something tells us the wait is almost over. Come meet him and let him show you what he's all about!

Hugo here is a new recruit for the shelter, and we want to make sure our facility is well stocked with all the things he needs to stay comfortable while he waits for a forever home!

The shelter is a stressful place for pets like him, and even with all the soft treats in the world, our facility will never compare to a real home. If Hugo looks like the dog for you, come and meet him anytime this weekend. We're open 12-5 pm daily (closed Wednesdays).

Meet Critter. He showed up at HSHC at 2 years old with all the ingredients of an incredible dog. Smart, curious, playful, full of personality. You could just tell he had it in him. He just hadn't had anyone take the time to show him what to do with it.

So we did. Critter spent two weeks at PetSuites in their Stay & Study program, where his trainer, Bonnie, helped him learn sit, down, place, leave it, and polite leash walking. He took to it like he'd been waiting his whole life for someone to ask. And when you adopt him, you'll get a free exit lesson with Bonnie, so you're never starting from scratch alone.

The photos in this post are from the first time a staff member ever met him. First. Time. That's who Critter is when someone shows up for him.

Since he's still building his skills and learning what's expected of him, he does best in a home with older teens and adults, where everyone can follow his cues and help him keep practicing his manners. He's not a great fit for cats, but if you have a dog at home, bring them along for a meet and greet!

Shelter life is hard on a dog like Critter, and every day he waits is a day he's not getting the consistency and stability he needs to thrive. He's earned a home, and we'd love for that home to be yours. No appointment necessary. Just come on in and meet him. We can't wait to introduce you! 🥰
