Meet Truffles 🖤
She came to us in heartbreaking shape—weak, in pain, and facing euthanasia after what appears to be traumatic injury, possibly from a car or animal attack. She was struggling to walk, bleeding and swollen at her urethra, and clearly suffering.

Thanks to quick action, Truffles is now safe and resting. X-rays revealed a clean pelvic fracture. While she currently has no control over her bladder or bowels and no tone in her tail, there's hope that, with healing, she may regain some function. We’ve sent her imaging to a radiologist for further review and are awaiting additional bloodwork to better understand her prognosis.

Despite everything she’s been through, Truffles is an absolute lovebug. She spent just five minutes with her foster mom before curling up in her lap like she’d been there forever.

Right now, her medical care is approaching $500 and growing as diagnostics continue. She will also receive basic vetting—spay, vaccines, f***l, and snap test. We’re committed to giving her the best chance possible.

With nearly 100 vendors, the Irvington Farmers Market is always a great time—and even better with adoptable ARPO pets! All animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

We welcomed Shelby yesterday, and she’s already enjoying the good life—soft grass, warm breezes, and all the love a pup could ask for.

Shelby came from a southern Indiana shelter where she and her five siblings were dropped off. We don’t know much about their history, but Shelby arrived with quite a few ticks, which were removed at the vet yesterday. She’s been nothing but sweet—affectionate, eager for pets, and always close by her foster family’s side.

She’s a great little car rider, is doing well meeting the resident dog, and is learning leash walking and potty training like a champ. At just about 3 months old and under 15 lbs, she’s the perfect size for fostering.

We’d love to find foster homes for her three sisters and two brothers, who are still waiting at the shelter.

Meet Moonpie, a tiny fighter with the biggest heart—and some very sore toe beans.

She was found by a good samaritan with fishing wire tightly wrapped around her paw, cutting off circulation. We don’t know how long she was like that, but judging by the swelling and discoloration, she must have been in terrible pain.

Moonpie’s foot is still enlarged from the trauma, but we’re doing everything we can to save it. She’s receiving laser therapy, circulation-boosting medication, and lots of love to help that little paw heal.

On top of her foot treatments, she’ll also need all the basics—vaccines, spay surgery, a f***l test, and possibly additional care depending on how her healing goes. Right now, her medical costs are expected to be around $700.

Meet Hash Brown!
This 3 month old mixed breed pup (born around 3/31/25) weighs in at about 16 lbs of pure cuteness! He loves spending time chewing sticks, chasing bugs in the yard, and joining in whatever activity is going on. In the evening, he is ready to curl up together and watch tv or read a good book. With his warm green eyes and curious, playful personality, Hash Brown is a bundle of joy just waiting to find his forever home.

Hash Brown and his siblings came to the shelter without their parents, so we don’t know exactly what mix he is — but we do know he’s 100% American Adorable.

He’s working hard on his house training and is already showing great promise. With a patient and loving family, Hash Brown will absolutely thrive. He’s eager to please, full of potential, and ready to be your new best friend.

🎇 Feeling festive this week? We’ve got a sparkly little idea for you...

If you’re already out stocking up on snacks, glow sticks, and suspiciously loud things, might we suggest tossing in one more item on your shopping list: kitten food. Or puppy pads. Or a giant bag of litter for the tiny gremlins currently ruling our foster homes.

Because let’s be honest—freedom is great, but so is a pack of canned food for a kitten who thinks 3 a.m. zoomies are a patriotic duty.

We’re not saying skip the celebration—we love a good excuse for themed snacks and backyard lounging. But if you’re in the mood to spread a little extra joy (and maybe save a foster parent from being eaten alive by bottle babies), we’d love your support.
