Did you know that dogs meeting nose to nose on leash shouldn’t last more than 3 seconds ?

After 3 seconds one or both dogs maybe agitated or nervous and uncomfortable.

We practice the 1-2-3 and redirect rule in our classes.

Taking the pressure of nose to nose greeting can help dog greeting and interaction go much smoother.

Big gold star to Stevie’s team! She goes to work with her family and they are helping people understand how best to interact with her and respect her space! She is so cute everyone want to pet and pick her up. A day at work could mean hundreds of hands reaching for her. That can be a lot for any dog. So her team worked with Coach Kish to create a plan to help Stevie through her “work”. Look what her team made for her! This cute but very informative sign helps educate the clients at work. Today was Kish second visit to the office and Stevie has made a lot of progress! Kish was so impressed by the team. They did their homework, followed the suggestions and ran with the client education suggestions! 👏💕🐾

Mondays at 5:10pm, start July 28th, total cost $82

In this 3 session class we help owners help their dogs with confidence building skills to help dogs navigate through daily life and possible special events (like visiting a store or family gathering). No previous experience needed.

This class is for a newly adopted dog who is shy and withdrawn or a dog who has been with the same family for sometime and needs help with confidence boosting.

This class is NOT for dogs who have signs of aggression like lunging, biting and barking.

Out and About class is a great way to take your training to the next step by working in public with various levels of distraction. Last night our class did great navigating the sounds of children playing basketball, skateboarding, people walking their dogs and more. A big congratulations to Coach Zoie and her pup Hugo for successfully completing and intensive 6 month dog training professional certification course. Zoie has earned her KPA-CTP.
This is an esteemed certification that takes a lot of skill, dedication and heart. For her final week of this course and for the final in person testing Zoie and her crew traveled to Kansas City, Missouri .
We are so happy and proud to have Zoie as a part of our team at Down Dog. Be sure to give her a congratulations the next time you see her in class or out and about.

Being proactive with your training can take the stress out of future events - like taking meds. This pup has already been introduced to taking yummy treats out of a syringe so the first time she actually needed medication from a syringe it was no problem for her!
