Meet Julie Your Active Companion 🌟

Hi, I’m Julie, an adorable 9-month-old, spayed, chocolate & white terrier mix with an energetic, loving disposition! I enjoy leash walking, outdoor exploring, agility, doing commands and fetching. I will even bring the fetch back to you so we can keep on playing! I’m also a great snuggler and kisser! Trainer Joe likes the way I’m calm & friendly around other people and animals. He thinks I’ll make a great therapy dog and loyal family member!

Every time I walk into a home for a training session, one of the first things I look at is the dog. The coat, the weight, the energy, the eyes. More often than I would like, what I am seeing traces right back to the bowl.

Dog food advertising is everywhere, and it is confusing on purpose. Raw, gently cooked, kibble, grain, no grain. So I wrote down what I actually tell my clients, in plain language.

A few of the basics:
🐾 Dogs digest rice, barley, and oats just fine. Wheat, corn, and rye are the troublemakers.
🐾 If you feed kibble, the first ingredient should be a real protein, and you want to avoid byproducts and preservatives like BHT and BHA.
🐾 Trying to slim your dog down? Skip the diet formula and swap in veggies like green beans and carrots instead.

Some dogs come into our lives so quietly, and love us so completely, that you start to wonder if they were sent on purpose.

After all my years working with dogs, I still believe there is something a little heavenly in the way they forgive, the way they stay close, the way they ask for nothing but our company. They make us calmer, kinder, and better.

Live from Global Pet Expo 2026! I caught up with Carly from Bay Dog to check out their Monterey Bay Offshore Life Jacket. Two floating pontoons up top and a protective chest panel mean that if your dog goes over backwards, the jacket rights itself and keeps their head above water.

Down here in Southwest Florida, nearly everyone has a pool, so teaching your dog to swim safely really matters. Start them young and build the muscle memory.

This kind of message is why I do what I do.

Lisa reached out about Charlie, an energetic pup who was jumping on people, the furniture, and even the dining room table. Over two in-home sessions we worked on structure and consistency, and I left the family with the tools to keep it going. Charlie is well on his way to being a calm, well-mannered dog.

Here is the part that means the most to me. In Lisa's words, I did not just train their dog, I taught them how to be consistent leaders for him every day. A trained dog is wonderful, but confident owners are what make it last.

Hi, I’m Chop Chop, a handsome 9-year-old, neutered, blue nose Staffordshire Terrier with a calm, gentle disposition! I’m happy doing anything my person wants to do like leash walking, exploring, doing commands or meeting with other 2-and-4-legged friends. If my person just wants to relax on the grass or the couch I’ll be right there with them calmly laying by their side enjoying every minute! Trainer Joe tells me I’m not a lap dog but every time I’m around humans I just want to kiss them!

I’m mature and trained so I don’t have annoying puppy behaviors! Joe also tells me I will make a loyal and loving family dog! He feels a mature couple will like my low key, quiet disposition. I agree! As you can see from my picture, I am ready for my forever owner and companion!

Three cheers for Ruby and her people, Betsy and Bob.

This beautiful golden has come so far, and it shows. Betsy and Bob stayed consistent, put in the work at home, and Ruby responded beautifully. That is always the secret, a dog set up to succeed by owners who show up for the practice.

Ruby has officially completed her Canine Command Canine Good Citizen training, and watching her confidence grow has been a joy.
