Ready to hit the road with your furry friend? Without further ado, here’s your basic to-do list to make travel fun, safe, and stress-free!
1️⃣ Visit the vet first – make sure vaccines, flea/tick/heartworm preventatives are up to date. Ask about anti-anxiety meds if your pet gets stressed in the car.
2️⃣ Practice short trips – start small so your pet associates car rides with treats, toys, and fun.
3️⃣ Feed and exercise before you go – a light meal 4 hours before travel and a good walk or play session can help them relax.
4️⃣ Pet-proof your car – use a crate, carrier, or harness, and keep your pet safely in the backseat. Safety first!
5️⃣ ID & microchip – collars with tags and microchips are essential in case your pet escapes.
