Yesterday, we said goodbye to our sweet Gelato. 💔

Gelato was one of the sweetest souls: endlessly loving and always ready to share affection with everyone she met. Her gentle presence brought so much comfort and joy to the sanctuary, and she will be deeply missed by all of us.

This Sunday at 1pm, we will honor Gelato alongside Felix, Krishna, Gracie, Joel, Pickles, Olive, Strega, and Hermoine during our Celebration of Life gathering. We invite everyone to join us to share stories, memories, photos, and love for the beautiful lives who touched our hearts so deeply.

Meet Bruce! 🐐

Last week, we shared that the sanctuary is already feeling the impact of baby season, as we welcomed two goslings and two young goats.

Now, we’ve taken in a 10-week-old baby goat from an animal cruelty and neglect case.

After being confiscated by law enforcement, Bruce was taken to a city animal shelter that cannot legally adopt out farmed animals, leaving him with nowhere else to go.

That’s when we stepped in.

Every spring, more babies are born into situations where they are neglected, abandoned, improperly cared for, or simply unwanted once the reality of caring for them sets in. During baby season, calls like this increase quickly.

Join us in the house on Sunday, May 31st at 1PM as we gather to celebrate the beautiful lives of Felix, Krishna, Gracie, Joel, Pickles, Olive, Strega, and Hermoine. ❤️

These beloved residents each left their own unique mark on our sanctuary and on the hearts of so many who knew them. Together, we will share stories, memories, photos, laughter, and tears as we honor the love they gave and the lives they lived.

If you have favorite photos or memories to share, put them in the comments. Community is such an important part of grief, remembrance, and love, and we hope you will join us for this special afternoon.
