If it is too cold for you it is too cold for your pets.

🥶 Cold Weather Reminder for Pet Owners 🐾

With freezing temperatures expected in the coming days, the Erie Police Department wants to remind residents that it’s simply too cold for pets to be outside for long periods.

Extreme cold can be dangerous for animals, especially puppies, senior pets, and those with short coats. Frostbite, hypothermia, and paw injuries can happen quickly.

Help keep your pets safe this winter:

❄️ Bring pets indoors during extreme cold
❄️ Keep outdoor time brief—quick potty breaks only
❄️ Protect paws from ice, snow, and salt
❄️ Never leave pets in a cold vehicle

Cold affects pets differently depending on breed, size, age, and coat. When in doubt, bring them inside. If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them. 💙

RECALL ALERT - Consumers Supply Distributing, LLC of Sioux City, Iowa is recalling 4 lb. bags of Country Vet Biscuits – Original Meaty Flavor and 4 lb. bags of Heartland Harvest Dog Biscuits – Meaty Flavor with Chicken because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

The recalled products were sold through retail stores in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Montana and Nebraska.
