🌟 Volunteer of the Month: Skylar 🌟
Erie Animal Network Junior Volunteer Extraordinaire

This month, we are incredibly proud to recognize Skylar as our Volunteer of the Month! At just 12 years old, Skylar is already leaving a big paw print on the world of animal rescue and we’re so lucky to have her as part of the Erie Animal Network family.

Skylar’s compassion and dedication shine in everything she does. She has a gentle, patient presence that makes her a favorite among our shyest cats those who need extra time and trust to come out of their shells. Her quiet confidence helps them feel safe, and somehow, she always seems to know just what they need.

Her love for animals doesn’t stop at the shelter. Skylar and her amazing family foster both cats and kittens, offering comfort and care during their most vulnerable moments. She’s also opened her heart and home to three adopted cats from EAN each one now thriving as a beloved family member.

Skylar’s kindness goes beyond the physical care of animals. She lovingly creates healing cards for our sick cats, bringing hope and comfort during their recovery. It’s a small gesture that carries so much heart.

She’s also a fundraising powerhouse. For the past four years, Skylar has hosted her own lemonade stand fundraiser, raising thousands of dollars to help animals in need. And her generosity doesn’t stop there- Skylar runs her own bracelet business, donating half of all proceeds to the shelter. Her bracelets are proudly on display at EAN, and every one sold helps save lives.

What truly sets Skylar apart is how she treats everyone she meets. She brings warmth, kindness, and a smile to every interaction whether it’s a new volunteer, a visitor, or one of our furry friends. She’s a friend to all, human and animal alike.

Skylar represents the very best of the next generation of animal advocates. Her energy, empathy, and leadership inspire us all. She’s not just a volunteer she’s an essential part of the Erie Animal Network.

From the attic of abandoned home to the heart of a good woman! Lloyd Christmas has found his happy new beginning with his wonderful new mom and is planning his days telling her all of his life experiences. We’re so happy for this handsome, loquacious guy! Thank you for adopting from EAN!!!

It’s the weekend and we’re open for meet and greets from 11-1 Saturday and Sunday!

This is the story of two amazing kitties who left as strangers and came back as friends 🤗 !

Sylvie and Ellie Cat (b&w) went to the same volunteer home during our temporary closure. They are both extremely gentle sweet girls, but are quite shy. While at the center previously they hadn’t spent any time together at all. But to our utter surprise and delight, while at their temporary stay, these girls found comfort and companionship together. They are now back at EAN sharing a condo and happily enjoying their accidental friendship.

Due to their shy, but loving nature and the bond they have formed we would dearly love to see Sylvie and Ellie Cat adopted together. And while they are shy, they do accept love and attention and as we discovered during their temporary stay, they are destined to blossom in a loving home.

If you would like to meet these two we invite you to stop by during open hours or message our main page for an appointment! Both are fully vetted and our adoptions come with two weeks post adoption health support and a no shame return policy if any adoption is not the right fit for everyone.

It’s Thursday and we are open for meet and greets tonight from 6-8pm!!

Newly in from foster we are pleased to introduce this stunning young dilute tortie, Edie!!

This young lady is the sweetest of the sweet girls, always ready to seek out and snuggle into human attention. She’ll happily sleep next to you all night long or curl up near you on the couch and quietly chat away at you. She is friendly and curious, gentle and playful, and truly the best girl.

We invite you to come and meet her during any of our open hours and apply at the link in the comments if interested in adopting! She would be a great addition to any home!
