Every year, the MAH group donates their expertise and resources to support local animal welfare initiatives. This summer, we expanded our outreach efforts by supporting Canine Partners Program. This organization founded by Judy Troyer, is dedicated to rescuing animals from puppy mills and other deplorable living situations, owner surrenders, and animals with behavioral challenges. She works tirelessly to rehabilitate and rehome these animals, demonstrating unwavering compassion and dedication. The MAH group has long admired Judy's commitment to animal welfare. Unfortunately, Canine Partners Program often receives limited donations compared to larger shelters in the Erie area. Recently, Judy received six Golden puppies in a single day. In response, the MAH group will be providing pro bono spay and neuter services for these puppies, helping to alleviate some of Judy's veterinary expenses. We encourage those considering donations in the future to support Canine Partners Program and their vital work in the community.

The wisdom of Charles Darwin’s words, “The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man,” is a guiding principle for us. Today, we were inspired by a selfless act of kindness when a Good Samaritan brought us a four-week-old kitten found tumbling across West 26th St. The kitten had sustained a serious injury, with its lower lip pulled away from the jaw, and was in need of care. Notably, this individual was already caring for a litter of kittens found outside her home. She quickly rescued the kitten and brought it to our attention. Thankfully, the kitten is recovering well and receiving the necessary treatment to heal. Moreover, it has found a forever home with one of our MAH team members. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the Good Samaritan for her compassion!!

On this Caturday we wanted to thank our friends at Orphan Angels for bringing this beautiful donor kitty in to help us save a panleukopenia positive kitten. We love when animal lovers collaborate together to save lives. Thank you!
