In July 2024, a Good Samaritan was out jogging along a hiking trail when she spotted a box abandoned on the side of the path. Inside were eight baby bunnies — likely from three different litters — all left without their mother. Some were only a few weeks old, while others were just a few months old.
One of those babies was Cliff 🤍
Cliff had quite the medical journey and was diagnosed with megacolon, a serious condition that affects the digestive system and prevents the intestines from moving waste properly. Rabbits with megacolon often struggle with chronic GI issues, weight loss, discomfort, and painful flare ups that require intensive lifelong care.
Through it all, Cliff fought so hard. And he never fought alone.
Our incredible medical team stood by Cliff every step of the way, helping him through each flare up with patience, compassion, and endless love. They worked tirelessly to keep him comfortable and as pain-free as possible, giving him the quality of life every rabbit deserves. Because of their dedication, Cliff knew safety, comfort, and love throughout his journey.
After a long and courageous battle, Cliff has finally lost his fight with megacolon. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing he is finally free from pain and suffering.
From a discarded bunny in a box to a life surrounded by people who loved him deeply, Cliff’s story mattered. He will always be remembered for his strength, his sweetness, and the fight he gave every single day.
Binky free, sweet Cliff 🌈🐇
If you feel moved by Cliff's story, please consider making a donation in his honor! We have another bunny, Lulu, who is currently battling megacolon as well and is in the process of getting a f***l transplant!
