Nothing like a group trail walk combined with some group downs!

The trail is one of our favorite places to sneak training into everyday life. Between exploring and having fun, we’re practicing recalls, group downs, impulse control, neutrality, engagement, and holding commands around distractions.

A dog knowing a command is one thing, but being able to perform it reliably around other dogs, exciting smells, movement, and distractions is another!

We’re always looking for opportunities to take the skills our dogs know and build real-world reliability with them. Training doesn’t always have to look like a formal session. Sometimes it looks like a bunch of happy dogs enjoying the trail together!

🐾 Dog of the Week: Goose! 🐾

This week’s spotlight goes to Goose, our handsome Golden Retriever!

Goose is everything you love about a Golden happy, goofy, affectionate, and always ready to have a good time. Whether he’s hanging out with his friends, soaking up some attention, or flashing that classic Golden smile, Goose knows how to brighten up the day.

We love having this sweet boy as part of the Nexus K9 crew!

Give Goose some love in the comments!

Dog of the week!

Introducing our very own Carly, or her formal name AKC MJR PTD Coolballows Sassy Lil Charmer RN BN (2/3 CD) CGCA CGCU ATT TKN.

Carly is a Long Coat Chihuahua who we lovingly refer to as the Queen. She’s sweet and sassy. On top of competing in multiple sports, she’s also done a commercial. We love having her help out as a nuetral dog for training pups.

On top of her accomplishments, she’s also given us our boy Otter and has produced several pups who are also titled in multiple sports.

She’s getting a little more gray each year, and we love having her apart of our family.

Otter feeling so proud of his ribbon, he earned his AKC Fetch Novice title, and earned more points in fastcat. Making him one of only a few Chihuahua’s to ever achieve a Fetch title! Winnow also enjoyed his first runs of fastcat, and proudly displays his Fetch novice and intermediate title ribbons!

🐾 DOG OF THE WEEK: RAMBO! 🐾

Looking fresh, fluffy, and handsome! ✨

This week’s Dog of the Week is Rambo, the sweet Doodle who is showing off his fresh new groom! ✂️

Rambo is looking extra dapper after his spa day, and we think he knows it! With that fluffy coat and adorable face, he was definitely ready for his close-up.

Give this handsome boy Rambo some love!
