Barb and I started out with a plan and a lot of hope and not much else. She has kept me steady ever since. When work got heavy, she kept our home light. When I got ahead of myself, she brought me back down.

Who taught you your why? ❤️

For me it was my mom. My dad showed me how to work hard, and everyone in El Paso knew him for it. But everything she instilled in us, care, trust, being kind to each other, is what I still lean on today with the families I serve.

12 cousins in one station wagon. That’s how West Coronado raised us. ❤️

Three sets of uncles lived just blocks away. Summers were spent at the park, and neighbors always looked out for one another. Some of those same families are still here today, with children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren.

That sense of community is the standard we bring to every family we serve in West El Paso.

I can still remember the first family that ever trusted me with their protection. I was 27, and I was terrified.

38 years later, we’re still protecting that same family. Three generations and counting.

Every family that sits across from me gets treated like that very first one. If it’s been a while since someone actually sat down and listened to what matters to you, my door’s open.

I asked my wife to describe my job in one sentence. Brutal. 😅

According to Barb, I “talk to half of El Paso and call it work.” The grocery store, a night out, the movies — there’s always somebody with a question.

You know what? She’s not wrong. Hearing from families and protecting them — that IS the job. ❤️
