❤️ It’s time to make the Meatballs at the El Paso Zoo for the African Wild Dogs!
- Kenny, a supervisor at the El Paso Zoo, takes on the role as Sous Chef (Chef being the pack of the Wild Dogs under his care) as he lovingly hides the dogs’ medicines in their daily infused meatballs.
- Come Celebrate Black Heart, Moon Pie, Notch, and Chip Jr. this Saturday, and maybe even get a chance to meet Kenny!

🐆🎉 Guapo, the El Paso Zoo’s beloved jaguar, is hitting a roaring milestone—he’s turning 21!
Come celebrate with us today at 10 AM, as his wonderful, attentive keepers have taken the time to prepare a wonderful day for Guapo that will include:
- Guapo’s favorite enrichment- a bunny (not a live bunny but a frozen, humanely-euthanized one the zoo sources from a company dedicated to supplying frozen prey animals)
- Blood Pops with Celery Sticks to mimick a Bloody Mary
- Painted Kegs for Guapo’s entertainment and Decorations
- Educational Keeper Talk

🦧 Sumatran orangutans are the largest arboreal primates and the most recognizable of primates. Come help us celebrate them during the El Paso Zoo’s International Orangutan Day this Sunday, August 16th.

These great apes are a critically endangered species and are confined to a small region on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, where their decreasing population is affected by habitat loss due to logging, burning, mining, palm oil plantations and road construction. Poaching and infants sold into the illegal pet trade also pose threats to their existence.
