This Saturday was truly one for the books!

Thank you to everyone who showed up to support these shelter pets and help raise funds to get them the new beds they need for a more comfortable shelter stay! It’s clear to see that every one of these guys had the time of their lives making all of these new friends and getting time to stretch their legs at Puppy Yoga!

Puppy Yoga was a hit for everyone involved (especially the puppies 🐶).

The Humane Society of El Paso would love to thank all of the amazing members of the community who participated and helped us reach our goal of $3,000! The funds raised during this Puppy Yoga will go towards purchasing new, sturdy, waterproof cots for shelter dogs, since the current ones are starting to look a little “ruff” after years of use.

From participants to vendors to volunteers helping run the show, everyone really showed up for the shelter residents today, and we sincerely appreciate every ounce of support! You guys are truly PAW-some ❤️🐾

Tune in live, because these little streamers are heading outside to touch some grass (and find their furever homes)!

Meet Jerma, Caseoh, and VanillaMace, three 9-week-old Shepherd mixes, and all of their friends off-site today, June 6, from 12 - 3 p.m. at Petco Bassett (5994 Montana Ave.). They may not give you an autograph, but you’re sure to get your fill of puppy kisses!

All HSEP residents go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines.

Mittens is here to remind you of your plans tonight!

After all, you’re definitely heading to the West Texas Art Show, Cinco DeGallo, right? This cool event showcases local artists at Bye Bye Dear at 111 E. Robinson Ave. from 6 - 11 p.m. tonight, June 5, and raises funds for the shelter pets of HSEP! All proceeds from the raffle and silent auction will go towards the care of animals in need ❤️

There’s nothing better than having a peaceful companion at your side ❤️

Manolo is exactly the kind of level-headed, supportive best friend you need in your life. This six-year-old Pointer mix is sure to win you over with his big, shiny eyes alone, but his absolutely adoring personality makes it impossible not to fall in love. Manolo is a clingy guy who would prefer to spend his life Velcroed to your side and following you everywhere you go! His easygoing personality makes it easy to take him along for every adventure, too - great on a leash, housetrained, dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and polite as a prince; this pup’s manners can’t be beat!

This 15-week-old pup can’t wait to meet you tomorrow, June 6, on-site at HSEP for Puppy Yoga, hosted by Shanti Yoga! If you haven’t gotten your tickets just yet, now is the time! Helen is a pup as resilient as her namesake!

This sweet girl is Helen, a blind and deaf, two-year-old, medium-sized pup who is sure to surprise you with her adaptability. With a sniffer stronger than eyes and ears could ever be, this gal has a special talent for sniffing out the nearest pair of hands at any given time! Helen is a social butterfly who is always on the hunt for some scratchies, so she’s never one to shy away from strangers. Everyone is her best friend! She’s a balanced, quiet pup with lower energy (and occasional zoomies!) who has experience living with other dogs, shows signs of housetraining, walks well on leash, and may very well find her way around new spaces better than the rest of the dogs at the shelter.

One thing we’re really looking forward to during Puppy Yoga hosted by Shanti Yoga this Saturday, June 6, is the awesome vendors who will be in attendance!

The pups are out to play!

This morning, the older pups of HSEP all got to have some fun in the run with a big playgroup to stretch their legs before breakfast. Now that they’re all together, it’s clear to see why these pups are getting overlooked in the shelter… Obviously, this golden pack of pups just blends in too well in the sandy El Paso environment! There’s no way it could be anything else; after all, these guys have no shortage of puppy love (or antics). The biggest difference between them and the younger puppies is just that they have all their vaccines and a head start on puppy training 😉

Meet the Top 10 residents who have been at the shelter too long…

Did you know that pups with longer stays at the Humane Society of El Paso have a discounted adoption fee of $70? These pups and all other dogs who have been available for adoption for over 60 days qualify for a discounted fee, so that you have a little extra to spoil these pups a little extra after adoption!

All HSEP residents go home already spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines!
