Did you know the first fish food that Cory from Aquarium Co-Op ever developed was the Easy Fry and Small Fish Food? After many years of breeding fish and running a large fish rooms and fish stores, he wanted a high-protein, nutritious food that be fed quickly and easily. With the unique squeeze bottle, you can open aquarium lids with one hand and squeeze out the food with the other hand. This small-sized floating food contains a high concentration of 55% protein with the first ingredient being salmon fish — which leads to much faster growing fish, more intense coloration, and more babies. Watch as master breeder Dean feeds all his tanks with Easy Fry Food (and shows an ancient container of the first version of this food).

Cory is downsizing his fish room and gave Zenzo (our Director of Company Culture & Teams) his rare Cyprichromis sardine cichlids. Watch how Zenzo packed them as a carry-on, took them through TSA security check, and brought them on his flight from Washington to California. They are now living in his 125-gallon Lake Tanganyika community aquarium. To help them start spawning, he's been feeding them live baby brine shrimp, which can be eaten by both very small nano fish and African cichlids.

Got some new photos for our lithium-ion battery back up air pump. Quiet, automatically stays running when the power is out, features a power saver mode to run 16 hours, can adjust the output of air as well. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/collections/air-pumps/products/aquarium-co-op-air-pump
Cory is renovating his "offish" or fish office by downsizing to 10-11 tanks. There's a desk in place, a couch for visitors and naps, and a new wall of Aquarium Co-Op products in the background... unfortunately, there's also a mysterious neon green goo that is taking over his wall of 40-gallon aquariums!

Have you used Easy Green? I'd love to see our reviews on it to break 5,000. We only need 27 more! Master breeder Dean runs his entire fish room on a linear piston air pump, but he has a special use case where he needs the two-outlet Aquarium Co-Op air pump. Try to guess with Cory why you might want to run our air pump in a fish room. And if you don't have a fish room, it's all the more reason to get the Aquarium Co-Op air pump for your sponge filters because of the amazing battery backup that will save your fish during power outages.

I've been bad at promoting our catch catch cup. I think I literally use it every day. Whether it's for brine shrimp, frozen foods, moving fish, plant trimmings. Collecting snails, scooping substrate, hatching turtle eggs, hatching our corydoras eggs. It's like it has 101 uses. Ours is ultra clear and unbreakable. Having used every type over the last 20 years in the store, we wanted the best. If you have never had a good catch cup, I highly recommend it. I actually use 2-3 each day in my own fish room. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/collections/cleaning-supplies/products/aquarium-co-op-catch-cup
Another new product today. Easy Potassium. This has been requested for many years. While Easy Green already has a lot of potassium in it, some tap waters or tanks with lots of java fern and anubias could need more. If you have pinholes in your leaves, this could be a sign you need more potassium.
Your water may have nitrates, phosphates, irons, potassium and other nutrients in it at varied ratios out of the tap. This could lead to a point where you are better off dosing a few individual nutrients than the All In One Easy Green.
Similarly if you have a tank overflowing with java ferns, anubias and other plants. You could be low on potassium. Look for pinholes in your leaves as a sign. Most common in anubias and java fern, but can present in stem plants and others as well less often.
90% of people will only need Easy Green. Those with a love for anubias, java ferns, well water, high tech tanks, odd tap water and a weird plant mix may need to supplement Potassium.

Master breeder Dean has been hatching baby brine shrimp (BBS) for more than 60 years because it's the BEST food for growing strong and healthy baby fish. Every day he hatches 1 Tbsp of Aquarium Co-Op brine shrimp eggs in a 2 liter Ziss brine shrimp hatchery with 2 Tbsp of Easy Brine Shrimp Salt. The temperature is 78°F, and he harvests them after 36 hours. With two hatcheries running at a time, he's able to feed the fish some BBS and fish food twice a day, but if you're not breeding tons of fish like he is, he recommends hatching them out 2 times a week.

In today's Q&A, Cory was asked, "What is the most interesting aquarium setup you've ever seen in the whole world that you want to try at home?" For Cory, the answer is twofold. First, he loves the way fish look in the wild under natural sunlight and has found a way to emulate that by using skylights in the fish room. The second setup he got inspired by was from Facebook. He's now working to make his fish room now into a "fish room office" or "offish" where it has a desk off camera for him to work at, good lighting to make it easier to film, and lots of comfy couches for guests to hangout.

Are you storm ready? So many people are experiencing power outages due to high winds. Likely you have family members, others pets and of course your fish. You can make a power outage 1 step easier by having a battery back up air pump. Our air pumps run normally and then when the power goes out, continue to run. We also have a power saver mode button to make the battery last twice as long. They are also USB so you can recharge in your car, a laptop, a cell phone battery bank etc.
I know there is always so much going on when the power goes out for me, that even though I own a generator, I prefer having my air systems with sponge filters on battery back up. We have this both in the retail store and my person fish tanks. Makes sleeping a lot quieter as well.
A battery air pump with sponge filter combo is easy to implement into each aquarium and can be your main filtration anyway.
Run this quiet, rechargeable USB air pump from a wall outlet or without power for 8 hours. Perfect for power outages or portable transportation of fish.
Going live. Come hang out.

We're selling off used 37 gallon acrylic tanks at our retail store. These are the same tanks you've seen in my fish room and store expansion. The tanks for sale are the ones seen in my fish room here, and the ones we were using at the warehouse.
They are $30 each or if you purchase 5 or more they are $25 each. No holds, ready for pick up at the retail store in Edmonds, Washington. 50+ still left of them.
The dimensions are 24 wide, 30 inches front to back and 12 inches tall. All of them have a hole in the back for a 2 inch bulk head and all sides and bottom are black.
Since moving the warehouse, we had to double up on some inventory. Brine Shrimp was one of them! Save 25% on the 100 gram cans until we get back to our normal range of inventory. Depending on how fast people buy, that could be a couple days or a week! Get while the getting is good! https://www.aquariumcoop.com/products/aquarium-co-op-brine-shrimp-eggs

I believe one of the best things we can do for our shrimp buddies is keeping a catappa leaf in the aquarium. After about a day, it turns into a buffet for the shrimp. Bacteria will start breaking down the leaf, and shrimp love to eat that bacteria. If you place it up front you can watch the buffet. Or you can hide it behind your plants. Really helps kept them fed when you're on vacation or get busy. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/collections/breeding-supplies/products/catappa-leaves

Zenzo from Aquarium Co-Op visited one of our Retail Partners, JJ Aquarium Antioch in CA. Lerry and John are two hobbyists who started off as breeders selling fish out of their garage. They had the opportunity to purchase a local fish store (LFS) when the owner retired. After a complete renovation, they've now been open since Feb. 2023 and carry community, semi-aggressive, and aggressive fish — some of which are locally bred. They decided to join the Aquarium Co-Op Retail Partner Program (RPP) because they've tested out the high quality of our products and customers love being able to pick up a bottle of Easy Green fertilizer without having to wait for shipping. To learn more about JJ Aquarium, visit their website at https://jjaquarium.com/. Tag your local fish store if you'd like to see them carry Aquarium Co-Op products too! 🐟 Fish stores, apply for the RPP program here: https://www.aquariumcoop.com/pages/rpp
